Invictus Games inspire CPSMy day began very early this morning as I farewelled our Invictus Games participants. What an amazing opportunity for everyone! It has been almost 12 months to the day since I first heard of this possibility and I am very proud to be sending Corowa Public School students to Sydney to be part of this incredible experience.
The Invictus Games mean so much to many people and to me personally. To fight through the challenges we are faced with, to overcome struggles, to move forward with our lives, to be someone who achieves personal bests, to inspire others and to be proud of your past are traits that we can all aspire to.
With these values in mind, Corowa Public School is very proud to be part of a community that can and does rise up to challenges and achieve greatness.
A journey towards future learningThe staff and students will also be taking these values into the classroom over the next few years as we move through a journey of discovery and curiosity. We began our adventure this week as a number of staff members attended the Curiosity and Powerful Learning Conference. Our school improvement team will guide us through our journey of discovery to ensure we are the epicentre of education in our region.
Over the next three years, staff, students and parents will be given opportunities to become critical thinkers, problem solvers and curious investigators in a classroom that challenges and asks the big questions. You will be asked for your story, your opinion and your suggestions. Curiosity and powerful learning will inspire us to be the best we can.
Enjoy the beautiful weather we are experiencing at the moment and let’s hope there is some more rain in the near future.

Soccer clinic success! By Ava, Regan, Ruby & IsabelleLast Friday, we had a soccer clinic. The clinic was run by two soccer coaches, Tanner and Adam.
The students loved it! They really liked learning about soccer, trying different strategies and working their way towards becoming good soccer players.
As you can imagine, soccer is currently the flavour of the week, with many students kicking the soccer ball around at recess and lunch time.
Getting ready for big school!These future students are having a great time at our Little Learners sessions, meeting new friends and teachers, as they get ready to start Kindergarten at Corowa Public School in 2019.
Budding architects get crafty in platypus classroomPlatypus students have been studying built environments in their Science classes recently. As part of these studies, students have constructed model shelters using newspaper, masking
tape and cellophane. Don't they look fantastic!

Willow turns two!Our beautiful school dog, Willow, celebrated her second birthday in style last week!
Willow was spoiled (nothing new there!) in her birthday week with extra pats from staff and students and enjoyed a few extra treats as well.
The birthday girl was also treated to a luxurious bath at school and a birthday party at doggy-daycare!
