Contracts Module 1 Workshopprogramme has beendesigned to be highly practical

qualified in their experience of the FIDICContracts and are both authors of
publications on the Contract Conditions.The International Federation of Consulting Engineers
(FIDIC) has, over the years, issued a number of standarddocuments for use on construction projects. Thecontracts which are currently in most common usearound the world are: The Conditions of Contract forConstruction (The 1999 Red Book); The Conditions ofContract for Plant and Design-Build (The 1999 YellowBook); The Conditions of Contract for EPC TurnkeyProjects (The 1999 Silver Book).For more information about FIDIC, go to

Edward Corbett is themanaging director of Corbett &Co International ConstructionLawyers Ltd, a practice
specialising in internationalconstruction law. Hisexperience includes ICCarbitration, litigation and disputeadjudication as well as contractdrafting and procurementstrategy. He has worked forcontractors as well as foremployers, funders andconsultants. He regularlyadvises some of Europe’s majorconstruction players and hisusual caseload involves projectsin Europe, Africa, South-EastAsia, the Indian Sub-continentand the Middle East. He is aFellow of the Chartered Instituteof Arbitrators, an accreditedadjudicator and mediator and a
Panellist of the AmericanArbitration Association. He is the author of ‘FIDIC 4th –A Practical Legal Guide’.
He has lectured extensively onconstruction law and inparticular on FIDIC’s standardforms of contract.
He is previous co-chair of theInternational ConstructionProjects committee of theInternational Bar Associationand is a member of the WorkingGroup of FIDIC which drafted theShort Form of Contract and theDredging Contract. Corbett & Cois an affiliate member of FIDIC.
Nael G. Bunni is a CharteredEngineer, Registered CharteredArbitrator and Conciliator. He iscurrently Visiting Professor atTrinity College, Dublin University.He is Past President of the
Association of ConsultingEngineers of Ireland, PastChairman of the Irish Branch of the Chartered Institute of
Arbitration and Past Presidentof the Chartered Institute ofArbitrators. At present, he is amember of the Board ofDirectors of the London Courtof International Arbitration;and a member of variousgroups of the Commission onInternational Arbitration of theInternational Chamber ofCommerce, Paris and its foraincluding the Forum on ADR; the Construction ArbitrationSection of the Forum on‘Arbitration and New Fields’;and the Working Party onTurnkey Transactions of theCommission on InternationalCommercial Practice.
In 1999, Dr Bunni was elected aFellow of the Irish Academy ofEngineering and in March 2000he was elected a member of the
International Council forCommercial Arbitration, ‘ICCA’.He is past Chairman of FIDIC’sStanding Committee onProfessional Liability and FIDIC’sTask Committee on Construction,Insurance and Law. At presenthe is a member or chairman of anumber of technical committeesin Ireland and internationally.
He has acted as arbitrator,conciliator/mediator or DAB inforty seven jurisdictions, havingbeen appointed arbitrator inover ninety-five cases of disputewith values up to £450 million,either as sole arbitrator or as amember of a tribunal or as achairman of an arbitral tribunal.
