2015 SUMMER CAMPS AT CORNERSTONE MUSIC CONSERVATORY

INSTRUMENTALStrings Summer Institute (2 week camp, 06/15-06/26): Take your strings playing to the next level through expert instrument-specific coaching, ensemble playing, and more! The Institute culminates in a final concert on Saturday, 06/27. Instructors: Shayna Rhodes and Stephen Reis.

WYO Orchestra Camp* (2 week camp, 06/22-07/03): Join fellow Westside Youth Orchestra members in exploring classic orchestra repertoire while building ensemble sensitivity and musicality. The Orchestra Camp culminates in a final concert Friday, 07/03. Instructor: Lowell Crystal.

Guitar Workshop (1 week camp, 07/06-07/10; 10:30-12:30): Join CMC faculty member and expert guitarist Bruce Garnitz in a fun exploration of all things guitar! Instructor: Bruce Garnitz.

Flute Camp (1 week camp, 08/03-08/07): Can't get enough of the flute? Come out to Flute Camp for a week of focused flute-specific musical instruction and ensemble work, and find out what it's like to play in a flute choir! Instructor: Frederick Staff.

Keyboard Orchestra (1 week camp, 08/17-08/21): Why should the strings and winds get all the fun of playing inensembles? Pianists and keyboardists will experience the enriching and musically vital experience of group playing through multi-part ensemble arrangements of classic and new pieces from a variety of musical genres. Instructor: Ann Pittel.

VOCALWCC Chorus Camp* – “Hello Hollywood!” (2 week camp, 07/13-07/24): Join the Westside Children's Chorus for two weeks of singing fun and camaraderie—themed this year on our local LA movie industry, including a fieldtrip! (Field trip pending availability.) Instructor: Ann Pittel.

Broadway Musical Camp (3 weeks, 07/27-08/14; full day camp, 8:30am-3:00pm): We're putting on a musical here at CMC, and we want YOU to join us! Be a part of our staging of The Wizard of Oz, and learn all about acting, singing, and the behind-the-scenes world of putting on a classic musical! Instructor: Erin Bentlage.

Glee/High School Musical Camp (1½ weeks [7 days], 07/09-07/17): Inspired by the hit TV show Glee, join us for a special camp where we both have fun singing acapella arrangements of popular songs and learn cool choreography to create engaging (and interdisciplinary) performances! Instructor: Erin Bentlage.

MIXED INSTRUMENTAL/VOCALIntro to Creating Your Own Music Video (2 week camp, 06/29-07/10): Learn how to plan, script, shoot, and edit your own music video! Students may choose to shoot their video of an original (self-written) song, or may cover an existing song. Instructor: Andrea Vancura.

Creating Your Own Music Video Intensive (2 week camp, 07/13-07/24): Further exploration of the skills, techniques, and processes developed in the previous Intro camp, with the end goal of creating a professional-looking product students can use to represent themselves as artists to the world as well as among teachers and peers. Instructor: Andrea Vancura.

Rock Band (1 week camp, 08/10-08/14): Play guitar, bass, drums, keys, winds/brass, or sing? Come jam with us on both the classics and the current hits, and learn how to more effectively interact with your bandmates in playing and performing this form of high energy, engaging music! Instructor: Daniel Davis.

EXPLORERS' CAMPS (NEW MUSICIANS)Music Explorers' Camp (1 week camp, offered in 3 sessions: Session I: 06/15-06/19; Session II: 07/27-07/31;

Session III: 08/17-08/21): New to music? Not sure which instrument you might be most interested in? Come join us as we journey through the different instrument families—brass, woodwinds, strings, keyboards, percussion, and voice! Close up demonstrations are paired with fun stories about each instrument's history and activities designed to build foundational musicianship skills, and each student will have the opportunity to “test drive” eachinstrument hands on! As available, guest presenters from a variety of world musical traditions will be featured to further enrich the camp experience. Instructor: Andrea Vancura.

Payment Requirements Refund Policy

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 per program is required at thetime of program reservation. This deposit is applied towards tuition.

Your space is not reserved or guaranteed until this deposit hasbeen paid. The balance of tuition is due no later than two weeks

prior to the first day of the program(s) you have selected.

If a registered student becomes unable to attend for any reason, arefund request in writing must be received and the following refund

policy will apply as follows: 10 or more business days (Monday -Friday) prior to the first day of program: Refund of 75% tuition less thedeposit. • Less than 10 business days: Refund of 50% tuition less thedeposit. • No refunds of any kind are available once program begins.
