Core loss testing identifies cores that are faulty as initially received by our service centers; and, after winding removal it serves as a quality assurance tool to verify that the core is not damaged. . . more value for you from LONGO.
Core loss testing detects faulty laminations (hot-spots) in core iron of stators, rotors and armatures. This examination quantitatively determines the magnetic condition of a core in watts/pound.
A dedicated computer software package provides precisely controlled testing and search capability that stores data for comparison of same or similar cores.The system generates a hard copy and digital file, which is retained, for each core loss test.The test result is very clear - "ok", or "repair" the core. Capable of testing cores up to 10,000 HP.
