French Updated Curriculum

In 2016, the adoption committee conducted a search of currently available instructional materials and, based on the textbook review process, determined that the updated version of the current French curriculum best aligns with the Washington State K-12 World Language Learning Standards.

• Aligned to Washington State K-12 World Language Standards and National Standards for Foreign Language Learning (ACTFL)

• Complies with ACTFL’s Alignment of the National Standards for Learning Languages with the Common Core Standards (CCSS)

• French speaking cultures world-wide are included in the study of the language

• Materials are provided for differentiated learning

• Assessments align to standards students are expected to achieve

• Multi-media materials are relevant and culturally represented

• Variety of ages, abilities and genders are represented
