Make Fortune Teller Head Jewellery Your step-by-step tutorial for making head jewellery to go with the Fortune Teller

Costume. Designed to fit 18-inch dolls. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create head jewellery to complement your Fortune Teller Costume. Little touches such as this can elevate your doll outfits from good to great!

Supplies: To make the Head Jewellery, you will need the following:

Approximately 18 inches of lightweight jewellery chain

Small jump rings in the same colour as the chain

A pendant. I used one that has connectors on both sides rather than one at the top but you could use either. What size you choose is based on the look you are going for.

Needle-nosed or jewellery pliers

Wire cutters (depending on the type of chain you use)

Ruler or measuring tape

Optional – decorative beads or charms, head pins

Instructions If you have any difficulty with this tutorial, please don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] with any questions you might have.

1. Gather your supplies. To make a basic head piece, you will need chain, a pendant, jump rings, pliers and a ruler or measuring tape.

2. Cut a piece of chain that is 13 inches long. Open up a jump ring and use it to join both ends of the chain to one side of your pendant. If you are using a pendant with only one connector, attach to that.

3. Using a jump ring, attach the chain to the other pendant connector. Cut a piece of chain that is 5 inches long. Using a jump ring, attach one end to the centre point between the pendant connectors. Find the centre point at the back of the long chain and attach the second end of the shorter chain to this point using a jump ring.

You have now completed the basic head jewellery. If desired, you can add extra decorations to it. Some ideas include:

Add coins or beads to the chain.

If you have a pendant with additional connectors on it like the one I’ve used, you can hang beads or other charms from them. I used a combination of tiny coins and beads threaded on to head pins.

Add extra chains or strings of seed beads to the jewellery.

You’ve Finished!
