This PSP seminar report shall be incomplete if we do not convey our
heartfelt gratitude to those people from whom We have got considerable support and
encouragement during this seminar. Many people have helped, provided direction, technical
information and advice at all stages of our seminar and it’s our pleasure to say vote of thanks to
all of them. owever, with the help of our seminar guide 4M$. M.B.TADVI5 it seems much
more interesting to write this thesis than we e!pected.
"lso we are very much thankful for our college SHRI K. J. POLYTECHNIC, which
provide us a good study environment # available access to get literature. $esides our friends
showed their kindly help # support in our thesis. $ecause of them, living in $haruch # studying
in %.&.polytechnic '$haruch( is a nice time.

This pro)ect focuses on the utili*ation of wind energy as a renewable source. +n the
nited States alone, wind capacity has grown about -/ to 01.23W and it continues to grow
with the facilitation of new wind pro)ects. The aim of this ma)or 4ualifying pro)ect is to design
and implement a magnetically levitated vertical a!is wind turbine system that has the ability to
operate in both high and low wind speed conditions. 5ur choice for this model is to showcase
its efficiency in varying wind conditions as compared to the traditional hori*ontal a!is
wind turbine and contribute to its steady growing popularity for the purpose of mass
utili*ation in the near future as a reliable source of power generation.
The benefits of maglev wind turbines, which use full6permanent magnets to nearly
eliminate friction by 7floating7 the blades above the base. "ccording to developers, the
technology is capable of scaling to massive si*es, enough to replace 0888 traditional windmills
and power 28 thousand homes. "dditional benefits include the ability to generate power with
winds as slow as three miles per hour, operational costs some 8 percent cheaper than windmills,
and an estimated lifespan of 88 years. That all sounds great, but the real proof will come when
these things get put to use, which may happen sooner than you9d think: ;evelopment is
proceeding rapidly in both the S and
