What is CTRA?
• Cooperative Teamwork & Recycling Assistance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in late 1994 – Grant request from the Lower Colorado River Authority
(LCRA) to the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (Now the TCEQ)- $50K planning grant
– There are currently six contractors chosen through the competitive bidding process, who guarantee the purchase of CTRA members' recyclables at contract prices.
– Formerly known as Central Texas Recycling Association. CTRA acronym well known, so wanted to continue it’s use and found a suitable name that describes the organizations’ goals.
Who are CTRA Members? • Today, CTRA consists of over 60 individual members.

• State Agencies • Municipalities
• Private Industry
Members commit to a 2 year contract, no annual fee, 10% administrative fee paid to CTRA.
CTRA Services • Local recycling program development; • Community staff development; • Data collection and record keeping assistance; • Contract negotiation and administration with
processors, and end-markets; • Access to information network regarding market
trends and prices; • Access to information regarding new technology; • Grant assistance/Award programs; and • Revolving Loan Fund (Recycling Equipment
Solutions: RE-Solve)
• Local and regional officials • Dealers, processors, brokers,
operators, mills, and end users • Business and industry leaders • Civic groups, environmental
groups, youth programs
