CoolCell® Controlled-Rate, Alcohol-Free Cell Freezing

CoolCell containers deliver a controlled and reproducible -1˚C/minute cell freezing rate to all vials when placed in a -80˚C freezer. CoolCell outperforms other methods of cell freezing including alcohol-filled containers (“Mr. Frosty”), wrapping tubes in paper towels or placing tubes in styrofoam boxes. CoolCell is the new standard for passive cell cryopreservation. Ideal for stem cells, cell lines, PBMC, primary cells, insect cells, nematodes, and many more.

PROBLEM: Cooling samples on ice or in gel-filled coolers introduces temperature variability and the risk of contamination.

SOLUTION: CoolBox XT is an ice-free cooling workstation that provides 1-2oC temperature for up to 16 hours – without electricity or batteries. Place a CoolRack or CoolSink on the internal XT Cooling Core and keep samples cold all day. An optional XT Freezing Core allows bench top freezing for up to 8 hours.

How to build a CoolBox XT Workstation

PROBLEM Current method of cooling samples in ice. The random layout can result in mis-identification, errors in processing and temperature variability.

SOLUTION CoolRack modules ensure consistent temperature to all samples (+/- 0.1°C), stability and organization; making ice bucket cooling reproducible.

How It Works: Heat is removed from samples during cooling (A) and heat is applied to samples when warming (B). Through precision engineering, CoolRack alloy uniformly distributes and maintains temperature across all samples.

TruCool® Barcoded Cryogenic Vials

TruCool leak-proof, auto-cap cryogenic vials are ideal for cell culture and biobanking. The screw cap features a co-molded thermally-fused gasket which prevents leaking, slipping and risk of contamination. The gasket is 95kPa certified to provide a leak-proof seal. The star socket on cap top is compatible with auto-decapping equipment. Each vial is individually barcoded with a unique identifier that can be read with common barcode readers. Recommended for use in vapor phase liquid nitrogen.
