MastheadContains the title of the magazine, the banner of the school, the edition of the magazine and the term that the magazine was produced. This is usually the same for every issue so it is easily recognisable.

Main PictureIncludes students from the school, looking happy and presentable to reflect that the school is an enjoyable and respectable school to go to. The students in the photo are doing an action that relates to the main article. We also know that the main article relates to the main article because it dominates the page.

HeadlineA snappy and quick title to quickly gain the interest of the reader , who is students and parents who like to know what is going on in the school.

School BannerReminds the reader of school’s motto and link with the main themes of the articles in the magazine.

AnchorageGives a brief overview of what it in the article to interest reader further.

Page NumbersSo the reader can quickly navigate through the magazine.

Title of ContentsLarge enough to grab the reader’s attention to reader further on what will be in the magazine. Short and snappy to quickly grab the attention of the reader. The language will be formal enough for parents looking at the magazine but still be at a level that younger students can read.This is more than likely going to be in the same place for every magazine.

Page NumberLarge enough for the reader to navigate quickly around the magazine.

Target AudienceThe target audience for this school magazine is the students of the school (Year 7 -10) because the language in simple but relevant to the school. It is also for the student’s parents as the language is formal and informative.

Date Informs the reader of which issue the magazine so they know they are getting the latest edition. The same in every issue. Part of the magazines house style.

Target AudienceWe can tell from the language used that this magazine is aimed at 6th form students because the language is sophisticated and formal and the content is about future plans, university and financial tips

List of ContentsThe language is more complex and still formal as the target audience is older. It has a brief outline of what is in the article to interest the reader more.

Images and Page NumbersThese interest the reader more and relate to the article that is displayed in the page number underneath.
