Contrast Repetition Alignment Proximity Index Slide 2 Contrast Contrast is the element of making things different from one another. For example when using a light color off set it with a darker background or vice versa. As seen on this page I have used the element of contrast with the white background and using a black text to off set it. For example if I have a photo of a puppy and one of a fish, I would put things that relate to the puppy closer to the picture of the puppy and same with the fish. First there is Serif which uses tails at the end of certain letters and secondly there is San Serif which is more blocky. An example of San Serif would be times new roman since it does not have tails that come off of letters such as t and a.
