    Stepsister 2: (laug hing) Have a g rea t night wo rking, Cinde rella.

    Narrator: After the evil stepsisters had left, suddenly, a fairyappeared.

    Cinderella: Oh my! Who a re you?

    Fairy godmother: I’m your fairy godmother, bea utiful Cinderella. I am hereto help you go to the ball tonight.

    Narrator: The fairy go dmother waved her mag ic wand.Cinderella’s rags turned into a beautiful dress.

    Cinderella: Wow! It’s so beautiful.

    Narrator: On her feet we re sparkling g lass slippe rs.

    Cinderella: Oh, I love t hem!

    Narrator: The fa iry g od mother turned a pumpkin into a n ama zing

    coa ch and some mice into ho rses.Cinderella: What a lovely coa ch and handsome horses.

    Fairy godmother: You are rea dy now, my dea r. Have fun tonight, but beba ck by midnight, or e lse!

    Cinderella: Okay, fa iry go dmother! Thank you.

    Scene 1 (at Cinderella’s home)

    Narrator: Once upon a time there was a bea utiful young g irl namedCinde rella. She had two ugly stepsisters who were verycruel to her.

    Stepsister 1: Did you clea n the kitchen?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 2: Did you polish my shoes?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 1: Did you iron my clothes?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 2: And...did you make breakfast?

    Cinderella: Yes, b reakfast is ready.

    Narrator: The evil stepsisters made C inde rella do all the hard wo rk.

    Cinderella: (ca lling out) Stepsisters! A letter from the royal palace hasarrived for you.

    Stepsister 1: (fighting) G ive it to me! I wa nt to o pen it.Stepsister 2: (fighting) No! I wa nt to open it.

    Stepsister 1 & 2: (looking at the invita tion ca rd) Loo k! We are invited to thePrince’s ball at the royal palace.

    Cinderella: (crying sad ly) I wish I could go, too .

    Narrator: The night of the ba ll arrived.

    Stepsister 1: (laughing) Ha, ha! We a re g oing to have a g reat time a tthe b all.

    Scene 3 (at Cinderella’s home)

    Narrator: The next day, the Prince set out to find Cinderella a g ain.

    Prince: I wa nt every g irl in the kingdom to t ry on this lost g lassslipper. I must find my princess.

    Narrator: But the g lass slippe r didn’t fit anyone. The Prince then

    arrived at Cinderella’s house.Stepsister 1: G ood mo rning P rince. I am so happy tha t you found my

    slipper.

    Stepsister 2: It is my slipper. I am the princess you are looking for.

    Narrator: The ug ly sisters tried to fit into the slipper.

    Stepsister 1: Let me try first!

    Stepsister 2: No. Your feet a re much too big. G ive it to me!

    Narrator: Their feet w ere much to o big . Then the Prince saw

    Cinderella.Prince: Let this girl try.

    Stepsister 1: But tha t’s only Cinderella .

    Stepsister 2: She didn’t g o to the ball. The slippe r won’t fit her!

    Narrator: Cinde rella sat do wn a nd t ried on the slipper.

    Prince: (smiling ) You a re the one I’ve been loo king for! What isyour name?

    Narrator: The P rince ha d found his princess and they lived happilyever after.

    Prince: Would you like to dance with me?

    Cinderella: Oh, yes, your hig hness.Narrator: The Prince danced every da nce with her. Suddenly, the

    Cinderella: I must go! Thank you for the dance .

    Prince: Please stay! (shouting) What is your name?

    Narrator: Cinde rella d id not answer and ran back to the coa ch, butshe lost one of her g lass slippe rs on the way. Then, thecoa ch and horses d isappeared . Cinderella’s bea utiful dressturned b ack to rag s.

    Cinderella: Oh no! Everything’s gone. My beautiful dress and mysparkling slippe rs, where a re they? Was it a drea m?

    Narrator: Once upon a t ime there were three b ea rs.

    Daddy Bear: (waving and smiling) I’m Dadd y Bear.

    Mummy Bear: (waving and smiling) I’m Mummy Bear and this is...

    Baby Bear: (excited) I’m Bab y Bear!

    Narrator: The three bea rs loved to ea t po rridg e e very morning.

    Mummy Bear: I mad e ho t po rridg e. I put some b erries in it to da y.It smells nice, doesn’t it?

    Baby Bear: Yum! It smells very nice and it looks delicious. Can I eatmine now ?

    Narrator: But their porridg e was too hot to e at now.Mummy Bear: The porridge is hot this morning .

    Daddy Bear: Let’s all go for a wa lk. It w ill be cool when we g et ba ck.

    Baby Bear: That’s a g rea t idea , Dadd y! Let’s go!

    Narrator: A little g irl called G oldilocks was out wa lking , to o. Shepassed by the three bears’ cotta ge.

    Baby Bear: (crying ) Oh de ar! I didn’t want to scare her aw ay!

    Scene 3 (inside the cottage)

    Narrator: Soon, the three bears came ba ck from their walk.

    Baby Bear: I’m so hungry!

    Daddy Bear: G rrrrrrr! Someone’s bee n ea ting my porridg e.

    Mummy Bear: Ahhhhh! Someone’s bee n ea ting my porridg e.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someone’s been eat ing my porridg e, andthey’ve eaten it all up!

    Narrator: The three b ea rs were so sad . Dad dy Bea r went to sit

    down.Daddy Bear: G rrrrrrr! Someone’s bee n sitting in my cha ir.

    Mummy Bear: (running from the kitche n) Ahhhhh! Someo ne’s been sittingin my chair.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someone’s been sitting in my chair and they’vebroken it!

    Narrator: Now, Da dd y Bea r and Mummy Bea r were very angry. Thethree bears went upstairs.

    Daddy Bear: Grrrrrrr! Someone’s been sleeping in my bed.

    Mummy Bear: Ahhhhh! Someone’s been sleeping in my bed.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someone’s been sleeping in my bed and she’s

    still there!

    Narrator: As Hansel and G rete l g ot closer to the house, theyrealized it was a special house.

    Hansel: Loo k! It’s made of sweet s.

    Gretel: ...and g ingerbread!

    Hansel: Let’s try some.

    Gretel: It’s delicious!

    Narrator: Hansel and Gretel nibbled away like hungry mice.Sudd enly an old woman opened the d oo r.

    Witch: You a re ea ting my house. Are you hungry?

    Hansel and Gretel: (jumping in shock and dropping their food) We’re sosorry.

    Hansel: We d idn’t mea n to e at your house...

    Gretel: ...but we were so hungry.

    Witch: (smiling sweetly) Come inside, dear children.

    Narrator: Hansel and G retel stepped inside the house. Then theold woman locked the door.

    Witch: How d are you eat my cot tag e! Now, I will ea t you,bo y! And you, lazy g irl, can g et to work!

    Hansel and Gretel: (scared and starting to cry) No, we d idn’t mean to.We’re sorry.

    Narrator: She wa s a w icked witch!

    Scene 2 (in the forest)

    Narrator: One da y, they got lost deep among the trees.

    Gretel: Hansel, where a re we? It’s gett ing late .

    Hansel: I don’t know, Gretel.

    Gretel: I’m very hung ry.

    Hansel: Me too.

    Gretel: Father will come a nd find us.

    Scene 1 (at home)

    Narrator: Hansel and G retel lived near a da rk forest with their fatherand their stepmother.

    Father: Excellent. What a re you going to d o to da y?

    the woods.

    Scene 3 (at the witch’s cottage)

    Narrator: The w itch locked Hansel in a chicken ca g e.

    Witch: You a re too skinny to ea t now, but I will fatten you up. Little g irl,ge t me some g ingerbread .

    Gretel: No, I won’t.

    Witch: Then, I could ea t you first!

    Hansel: Please Gretel, do as she says.Narrator: Each day, the witch fed Hansel lot s of sweets and g inge rbread .

    And each day, she felt Hansel’s finger to see if he was fatenoug h to eat, b ut he knew she couldn’t see well.

    Witch: Show me your finge r, boy!

    Hansel: (holding out a chicken b one) Here it is.

    Witch: (g rumbling ) Still too thin!

    Narrator: Soon the witch grew t ired of wa iting.

    Witch: I can’t wait any longe r! I shall eat yo u tomo rrow!

    Hansel: Oh no!

    Gretel: (crying) Oh dea r!

    Witch: Little girl, go a nd cut the wo od to ma ke the o ven nice and hot.

    Narrator: Hansel began to worry and G retel couldn’t stop crying.

    Narrator: The next morning, the w itch decided to ea t b oth children.

    Witch: (craftily) G rete l, climb into the oven to see if it’s hot enoug h.Gretel: I do n’t know how. Show me.

    Witch: Stupid girl! Like this!

    Narrator: Suddenly, G rete l had a g rea t idea . As the witch bentright over, clever Gretel pushed her inside the o venand slammed the do or.

    Witch: (screaming) It’s too hot! Let me out, little girl. LETMEOUT!!

    Gretel: (opening the chicken cage) Co me out, Hansel.

    Hansel: Where is the wicked witch?

    Gretel: I pushed her into t he oven and locked the doo r.

    Hansel: You a re so clever and brave!

    Narrator: They to ok the witch’s stolen treasure. Then, Hanseland G rete l found their wa y out of the d ark forest, andsoon found their way home again.

    Hansel and Gretel: (shouting with joy and running towa rds the house) Father!Father! We are home.

    Father: Hansel! G retel! Where have you b een? I have been soworried.

    Hansel: We g ot lost in the wood s and the w icked witch tried to

    eat us.Father: Oh my! I am sorry I let you g o into the forest. I missed

    you very much. Your stepmother has gone . She cannever hurt you again.

    Narrator: Hansel, Gretel, and their fa ther lived ha ppily ever after.

    Mother: Did you ge t a g ood price for the cow?

    Jack: No, Mom. But I g ot these mag ic be ans instead !Mother: (angry) What? Oh, you foolish boy!

    Jack: Mom, they will make us rich! Trust me .

    Mother: No way! These bea ns are useless!

    Narrator: Jack’s mother was very cross and t hrew the beans out of thewindow.

    Scene 2 (on the ground & in the castle)

    Narrator: During the night, the mag ic beans grew into a hug e beanstalk.By morning, the b eanstalk reached hig h into t he sky. J ack wasso surprised .

    Jack: Wow! This beansta lk is hug e!Narrator: Jack climbed and climbed and when he reached the top, he

    found a hug e ca stle.

    Jack: Oh my! There is a ca stle in the sky! I can’t believe this.

    Narrator: Jack crept inside.

    Jack: (whispering to himself) Everything is so b ig in here. Who lives inthis big castle?

    Narrator: Suddenly, the floo r beg an to shake.

    Jack: (scared) What is that no ise?

    Giant: (shouting) Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the b loo d of a n Eng lishman ...Be he alive or be he de ad , I’ll g rind his bones to ma ke my bread .

    Jack: (whispering) Oh no! It’s a giant! What can I do? Is there any placeto hide? Oh, there is a place .

    Mother: Jack, we d on’t have a ny money. So, I think we have to sell the

    cow.Jack: Okay, Mom. I will take the cow to the market.

    Mother: Be careful, J ack.

    Narrator: On the way to the market, J ack met a little old man.

    Old man: G oo d morning, young b oy. Where a re you taking that cow?

    Jack: I’m ta king it to the ma rket , sir. My mother and I are poo r, so weneed some money.

    Old man: I would like to buy the cow from you.

    Jack: Really?

    Old man: I don’t have money. Instead, I’ll give you five magic beans.

    Jack: Magic beans? Mmm.

    Old man: They will make you rich.

    Narrator: Jack had to think ab out it. He wanted t o make his motherhappy.

    Jack: Okay! You can take the cow!

    Narrator: Jack ran a ll the way home . He wa s so excited to tell his mother

    Narrator: With his axe, J ack chopped do wn the b eanstalk.Giant: Ahhhhh!

    Narrator: The g iant fell to the g round with a thud. That wa s the end o fhim!

    Mother: Oh my! It’s a g iant! J ack, what is going on?

    Jack: The mag ic beans grew into this huge be ansta lk. So, I climbedto the top and found the g iant’s castle. I wa tched this hen lay aperfect g olden eg g .

    Mother: Are you te lling me the truth, J ack?

    Jack: (smiling) Yes, Mo m. You’ll see.

    Narrator: Jack wa s right. The hen laid a g olden eg g every da y and J ack

    and his mother were never poor ag ain.

    Scene 3 (in the castle & at home)

    Narrator: As soon as the giant was full, he fell fast asleep.

    Jack: Now he is asleep. I will take the hen and climb back down thebeanstalk.

    Narrator: Jack quickly picked up the g iant’s hen. But the hen be g an tosquawk and flap its wings.

    Jack: Shh! Be q uiet ! The g iant might wa ke up!

    Narrator: The g iant wo ke up!

    Giant: (shouting) Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the b loo d o f an Englishman!

    Jack: (running) Oh no! Time to go!

    Narrator: Jack ran back to the beansta lk and climbed d own as fast as hecould!

    Giant: (yelling) I’ll ge t you!

    Narrator: Jack reached the bo ttom o f the bea nstalk.

    Mother: Jack, where have you be en? Why do you have a hen?

    Jack: Mom, hurry! Give me an axe!Mother: Here you are. What a re you g oing to d o w ith an axe?

    Narrator: Jack hid in a cupboard a nd wa tched a s the g iant a te five sheepfor his mea l. Then he ca lled for his hen.

    Jack: It’s amazing! I wish I had tha t hen. Then Mom a nd I would b erich.

    Dog: I don’t like t o wo rk!

    Rat: I have to drink some juice.Litt le Red Hen: Then I must d o it myself.

    Narrator: So the Little Red Hen d id it herself.

    Scene 2 (on the farm)

    Narrator: As time went by, the wheat g rew ripe.

    Litt le Red Hen: The whea t is rea dy now. Who will help me cut the whea t?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: (yawning) I’m tried.

    Dog: (yawning) Me too.

    Rat: (yawning) So a m I.

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I must harvest it myself.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hen worked hard by herself all day in thehot sun. Soon the wheat w as ready to carry.

    Litt le Red Hen: It is very heavy. Who will help me carry the wheat?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: (grumbling) We a re g oing for a w alk.

    Dog: (grumbling) We can’t help.

    Scene 1 (on the farm)

    Narrator: One da y on the fa rm, the Little Red Hen found somegrains of wheat.

    Litt le Red Hen: Wow ! Look what I found on the g round. I want to plantthem. Who w ill help me plant them?

    Cat: Not I!Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: I am g oing to take a nap.

    Dog: Me too!

    Rat: I am g oing to read a newspaper.Litt le Red Hen: Then I must d o it myself.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hen worked hard a ll da y and planted a ll theg rains of wheat herself.

    Litt le Red Hen: It was hard to plant all those g rains.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hen’s wheat g rew, but the weeds g rew,too.

    Narrator: So Ca t, Dog , and Rat stayed hungry and the Little RedHen and her chicks ate up all the b read .

    Scene 3 (on the farm)

    Narrator: Once all her wheat had been ground into flour, the LittleRed Hen returned to the fa rm.

    Litt le Red Hen: Who will help me make a nd b ake my bread?

    Narrator: Nobo dy answered. Ca t, Dog and Rat we re a ll sleeping .

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I will make and bake it myse lf!

    Narrator: When the bread was read y, Ca t, Dog , and Rat smeltsomething delicious.

    Litt le Red Hen: Who will help me eat my bread?

    Cat: Me!

    Dog: Me!

    Rat: Me, me, me!

    Litt le Red Hen: (laughing) Ha! Ha! Ha! Who is asking you? I am ca lling allmy little chicks to help me eat my bread.

    Litt le Red Hen: Here is all the whea t that I have g rown. Will you g rind itinto flour?

    Miller: Of co urse.

    Narrator: Once upon a time, there was a girl called LittleRed Riding Hood. She lived with her mother andfather in a cott ag e in the forest.

    Mother: Little Red Riding Hood, your g randmother is ill. Iwo uld like you to take this cake to her. It will makeher feel better.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Okay, Mother.

    Father: Rememb er, wa lk straight there. Do not stop orta lk to strang ers.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Don’t wo rry. I will not ta lk to any strangers.

    Mother & Father: Be careful, Little Red Riding Hood.

    Narrator: Little Red Riding Hood started to wa lk throughthe woods to her grandmother’s house.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Oh! What beautiful flowers! Grandmother lovesflowers. I’ll pick some for her.

    Narrator: Little Red Riding Hood stopped to pick someflow ers. The big , ba d wolf crept up be hind her.

    Little Red Riding Hood: I’m taking this cake to Grandmother.

    Ugly duckling: I should hide there so no a nimals can find me.Narrator: The ug ly duckling hid in a reed b ank all throug h the

    summer and all throug h the autumn.

    Ugly duckling: (lonely and sad ) Why am I so big and ugly? All I wantare some friends to play w ith.

    Narrator: One day, the ugly duckling saw beautiful, large, white

    birds flying in the sky.

    Ugly duckling: (looking up to the sky) They a ren’t ug ly and g rey likeme. They a re bea utiful. I wish I could b e like them.Then I wo uld fly away.

    Narrator: But the ugly duckling didn’t fly away.

    Ugly duckling: That’s just a dream. This is the only place I will be formy whole life.

    Narrator: He hid in the reeds all through the cold winter, alwaysby himself.
