The contemporary education ofGreek kindergarten teachers and

elementary school teachers.

The application of flexible CEprograms of training began since1995, which was based on the offerof training programs of three-monthduration or forty (40) instructivehours

MAIN CE PROGRAMS

To graduates of the Pedagogic Academies or the Faculties of kindergartens

To teachers that had service from 5 up to 20 years

To teachers with more than 20 years of service

For those having an extra degree in pedagogy

New educational programs The National Council of Education was founded (E.S.Y.P.) that resides in Athens

and constitutes an independent administrative authority, operates under the monitoring of Minister of National Education

and Religion and introduces to the government various subjects, among which

the CE and training of teachers

The Center of Educational research was established in the last decade (K.E.E.), resides in Athens and is monitored by the minister of National Education and Religion

Its aim is the promotion of research in subjects that concern the education

The learning Centers of Support of Education are founded (MO.KE.S.E.),

(article three of l. 2327/95). They constitute decentralized nationally-

owned services, are founded in the seat of each prefecture and depend on the

general secretary of each region.

The Institute of Permanent Education of Adults

is founded (l.2327/95, article 4, J.D.EK.E.)

Its aim is the study, the research, the provision of information and the development

of activities in subjects that concern
