LEARNERS: YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE OUR PRIORITYDelta School District, including the Continuing Education branch, continues to work with public health offi cials and the Ministry of Education to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic . Th e health and safety of all students, staff , and local communities remains our top priority .

Some Continuing Education programs will continue to provide some or all instruction on-line, through remote learning, or through some combination of those, while many programs designed for in‐person, in‐class instruction will be delivered that way during the Fall 2020 term as long as it is safe to do so .

Delta School District COVID-19 School Site Safety Protocols are being observed at all School District facilities . Classrooms and other spaces benefi t from enhanced cleaning practices and high‐contact points are sanitized regularly, and, as much as feasible, classes will undertake physical distancing and other safety precautions .

At any time, in response to recommendations from health authorities, Delta Continuing Education may need to postpone classes or, where appropriate, teach through a combination of remote and on-line instruction .

For your safety, and the safety of other students, instructors, and staff , YOU CAN HELP: • Do not att end classes if you have common cold, infl uenza, or COVID-like symptoms • Be mindful of your class’ start time to help us manage the fl ow of students, and leave

promptly aft er the completion of your class . • Practice diligent hand hygiene • Respect physical distancing measures • Masks or gloves are not required but may be worn at your option • Notify our offi ce immediately if you have tested positive and may have been contagious

while at a class or in one of our schoolsTh ank you and stay safe .

FACILITY USE IN DELTA SCHOOL DISTRICT’S COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN AND LIMITS TO PUBLIC ACCESSAs part of its pandemic response, Delta School District limited public access to all School District sites to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to support public health official requests for social distancing . (Licensees, such as daycare centres, are not included in the cancellation .) Schools are being cleaned and disinfected regularly in accordance with the BCCDC’s Cleaning and Disinfectants for Public Settings document .

Based on information from the BC Centre for Disease Control, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education, Delta School District will begin to re-open facilities to community use with the expectation that all user groups will familiarize themselves with and support the measures in Delta School District’s COVID-19 Safety Plan . This includes adherence to the Provincial Health Officer’s Order for Mass Gatherings, physical distancing measures, sanitization practices, and reporting of any confirmed cases . Rental groups will be provided with Safety Plan guidelines with the terms and conditions, and rentals permits will not be issued without agreement to these requirements .

Based on the evolving situation with COVID-19, community rentals may again be cancelled or restricted, possibly with short notice. Please check www .deltasd .bc .ca for updates .

WEEKEND RENTALSWeekend facility rentals are subject to a 4-hour minimum custodial charge to provide opening and closing, security, and custodial services . Additional cleaning time, depending on the nature of the rental group’s activities, may be required on weekdays or weekends in order to meet BCCDC Cleaning and Disinfectants standards .

TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIESRental groups must agree to the “Terms and Conditions Governing Use of School Facilities” . To download a copy of the Terms and Conditions document, please visit www .deltasd .bc .ca/district/facility-rentals/ . This document outlines policies on charges, damages, accident and liability insurance, supervision, fire safety, use of equipment, liquor licences, and pre-emption of use .

PERFORMING ARTSRental groups performing live music or theatrical productions are solely responsible for securing, reporting, and paying all application tariffs, copyrights, and royalties to bodies such as BMI, SOCAN, or any other performing rights society or body . When the rental group uses recorded musical works as part of their public performance of a non-concert event, such as a dance recital, Delta School District must collect SOCAN Tariff 8 fees as a separate charge and remit them on behalf of the rental group .

Application does not guarantee acceptance as seats may be limited and competitive .

Youth WORK in Trades (was SSA) Earn while you learn! Youth apprenticeships allow students age 15 to 19 the opportunity to begin any of the 100+ apprenticeships up to 3 years early, earning hours towards their trade as well as graduation credits .
