12:30-1:30 p.m. LEARNING LAB #1: UBM Craig Simms, BSc, COMT, CDOS, ROUB This course will allow the attendees an opportunity to perform a UBM exam. The basics of the exam will be covered along with scanning techniques and tips for getting better images.

LEARNING LAB #1: OCTZEISS CAS Instructor This course will discuss clinical application of Cirrus OCT. It will cover the operation of the instrument and how to read the most common analysis options. The course will discuss troubleshooting difficult cases and situations.

1:30-2:30 p.m. LEARNING LAB #2: UBMCraig Simms, BSc, COMT, CDOS, ROUB This course will allow attendees an opportunity to perform a UBM exam. The basics of the exam will be covered along with scanning techniques and tips for getting better images.

2:30-3:30 p.m. LEARNING LAB #3: B-SCANInstructor: TBDThis course will provide comprehensive hands-on training in the fundamental skills needed to perform a basic diagnostic B-scan examination of the eye. Terminology and basic principles of examination will be demonstrated at the instrument.

LEARNING LAB #3: FUNDUS PHOTOGRAPHYZEISS CAS InstructorThe course will provide an opportunity for hands-on practice with a ZEISS Visucam Retinal Camera instrument, including instruction on proper operation and troubleshooting techniques.

3:30-4:30 p.m. LEARNING LAB #4: B-SCANInstructor: TBDThis course will provide comprehensive hands-on training in the fundamental skills needed to perform a basic diagnostic B-scan examination of the eye. Terminology and basic principles of examination will be demonstrated at the instrument.

JOIN US FOR THIS SPECIAL TWO-DAY CONTINUING EDUCATION EVENT. Friday’s special session features hands-on Learning Labs that allow attendees to experience UBM, Cirrus OCT, B-scan, and Fundus Photography. To keep groups small, registration is limited for Friday’s Learning Labs so register early!

When you register for both Friday’s learning labs and Saturday’s lecture series you can earn up to 11 IJCAHPO Group A Credits. Registration for both days is separate, so make sure to check both boxes on the form.

8:00-9:00 a.m. OCT FINDINGS OF MACULAR DISEASE Sharam Danesh, MDThis course will cover the normal OCT and macular anatomy. We will also discuss findings in an OCT of various macular diseases.

9:00-10:00 a.m. CATARACT SURGERY OPTIONS AND TECHNIQUESAngela Herro Kovacik, MDThis course will describe different surgical and refractive options patients now have when pursuing cataract surgery, as well as tips on how to manage patient expectations and questions.

10:00-10:15 a.m. BREAK

10:15-11:15 a.m. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TECHNICIAN’S ROLE IN THE OPHTHALMIC EXAM Michael Stewart, MD This course will cover the finer points and pitfalls of the history and examination (pupils, confrontation fields, vision testing, motility, etc.) in preparing the patient for the ophthalmologist.

11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. OCT ANALYSIS IN GLAUCOMAKevin Kaplowitz, MDThis lecture will review the use of Optical Coherence Tomography for glaucoma. We will first review the concepts behind the test for its application to detect nerve thinning, the basics of assessing reliability, and then focus on how it can be used to monitor the progression of glaucoma.

12:45-1:35 p.m. RENAISSANCE IN GLAUCOMA SURGERY Dave Patel, MDThis course will discuss newly approved devices for surgical management of glaucoma.

1:35-2:25 p.m. UVEITIS: DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT Mandi Conway, MD, FACSThis course will provide an overview of uveitis including diagnosis, treatment, and the workup for uveitis patients.

2:25-3:15 p.m. MAKING EHR WORK FOR YOULaurie Brown, MBA, COMT, COE, CPC, OSA, OSC, CPSSFor those who have made the leap to EHR some time ago, and those frustrated with the plusses and minuses of EHR, this course will explain best practices for efficiency, compliance, and increased productivity.

3:15-4:05 p.m. OCULOPLASTICS WORK-UPS FOR LESIONS, THYROID AND CELLULITIS Misha Faustina, MD, FACSThis course will focus on periocular lesions, thyroid disease and cellulitis. We will also review triage, work-up, evaluations, and patient education for common oculoplastic conditions.

HANDOUTSA link to course handouts will be e-mailed to registrants one week prior to the meeting date, as they are not provided on-site. Handouts are available for two weeks.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDSAll cancellations and requests for refunds must be received by IJCAHPO in writing. A processing fee of $75 is deducted from each cancelled registration to cover a portion of the costs IJCAHPO incurs. ATPO memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITSIJCAHPO and CA BRN continuing education credits have been approved for this meeting. Continuing education credits earned will be posted to your account at www.jcahpo.org approximately 4-6 weeks after the program for participants who complete evaluation forms.

NOTE: Attendance is monitored for each hour of instruction. Participants absent for more than 15 minutes of any given hour will not receive credit for that hour.
