- World War II trip to the Cheshire Military Museum on Tuesday 6th March

As artists we will:

Research in to the life of Henry

Moore

Explore his work and investigate

his style

Explore light, dark, shade and tone

Combine, pattern, texture, line and tone to

suit the purpose of a piece of work.

Make continuous evaluations of our work

and make suggestions for improvement

As PE we will: [Indoor Athletics and

Circuits]

Develop greater fluency and

coordination of movements

Choose appropriate techniques for specific

events

Apply techniques to a range of different

challenges

Work together in teams

Evaluate and reflect on their own and

others’ techniques suggesting ways to

Improve

As Citizens we will:

Linked to the British value of Mutual Re-

spect, we will show love and appreciation for

those that are around us

Understand the importance of

co-operation when working with others

Life on the other side of the fence...

As Mathematicians we will use and apply our skills to:

Add and subtract fractions with different denominations including

mixed numbers

Multiply simple pairs of proper fractions writing our answers in the simplest form

Divide proper fractions by whole numbers

Associate a fraction with division and calculate decimal fraction equivalents

Recall and use equivalences between simple fractions, decimals and percentages

Identify the value of each digit in numbers given to three decimal places

Multiply and divide any given number by 10, 100 and 1000

Add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals with up to two decimal places

Calculate percentages and fractions of amounts

Read, write and convert between standard units of measures including length,

mass, volume and time

Convert between miles and kilometres

Calculate the perimeter, area and volume of different shapes

Recognise when to use formulae for area and volume

Calculate the area of parallelograms and triangles

Use simple formulae and express missing number problems algebraically

Explore ratio and investigate problems involving the relative sizes of two quantities

Interpret and construct pie charts and line graphs

Find and calculate averages such as the mean

In RE we will:

Identify the 5 pillars of Islam Understand the importance of praying for Muslims and the

symbolism of the prayer position Identify the links between prayer and fasting Understand the symbolism of pilgrimage Linked to the British Value of Tolerance for others’

faiths, we will Identify why faith is important in people’s lives

represent it

Perform our composed pieces in front

of an audience

Rehearse and perform songs from the

WW2 era

As PCs we will:

Learn to think creatively and systematically

Develop our logical reasoning skills

Create a presentation using Microsoft Power point

Publish work using a range of programs and skills

As Designers we will:

Research into the designer John Robison

Use our knowledge of circuits to create our very own air raid siren

Develop ways to make the siren louder

Evaluate a product to see how it could be improved and refine the quality of the finish.

In our role play we will:

Research into what Anderson and Morrison shelters were

Write diaries and letters as evacuees

Design and create our own propaganda posters for the war effort

Calculate how much money we could save through rationing

As Scientists we will: [Evolution and inheritance and Electricity]

Research Charles Darwin's theory of evolution

Identify how plants and animals have adapted to survive in extreme conditions

Investigate and identify variations between living things and present findings as a scatter graph.

Explore how fossils can inform us about the past and how they can show the process of evolution

Understand electrical symbols used in circuits and create their own

Look closely at the structure of a light bulb and investigate whether the length of the wire impacts on the bulb’s brightness

Understand the key differences between parallel and series circuits
