In an attempt to develop and optimize degradable high density polyethylene blends, particularly for packaging applications, it was blended with poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA), which is known for its biodegradability,processability, and biocompatibility. Various compositions of the blends were prepared in different ratios of HDPE and PLLA with and without a compatibilizer - maleic anhydride-grafted HDPE.
