LĪGO IN JŪRMALA 23rd of June from 21:00The magical atmosphere of Summer Solstice on a seaside around the bonfires, with a joyful activity programme – dancing and singing for all ages – on Dzintari and Kauguri beach. In the concert on Dzintari beach “Tautumeitas” and the band “Auļi” will be playing and “Jelgavas Big Band” will be entertaining the guests until the day breaks with soloists Miks Dukurs, Jānis Stībelis, Ieva Sutugova and others. The national park is set up in a place where thousands of years ago was the ancient Litorina Sea. Retreating, it left behind its lagoon, which turned into the creation of unique bogs and lakes with hydrogen sulphide mineral springs, rivers and annually flooded forest stands.

GREAT ĶEMERI BOG BOARDWALKThe Great Ķemeri Bog is one of the main sulphur water producing bogs around Ķemeri. During the passage of migratory birds the bog is an excellent place for bird viewing. The Great Ķemeri Bog Boardwalk will make your way easy into this otherwise hardly accessible land of moss, undersized pine trees, deep pools, tiny dark lakes and the flavour of wild rosemary.

BLACK ALDER SWAMP BOARDWALKThis Ķemeri National Park trail begins at the Park Information Center “Meža māja” and is 600 meters long. The trail is suitable for families with children - at the be-ginning of the trail there is a playground, near there is also Ķemeri historical resort park with interesting buildings of the last century, bridges, churches and other envi-ronmental objects. The park also contains hydrogen sulphide mineral water source “Ķirzaciņa”.

SLOKA LAKE WALKING TRAIL WITH A BIRD-WATCHING TOWERThe trail runs along the shore of a rich lake through different forests. The trail begins and ends at Sloka Lake, at the beginning there is a parking lot, a picnic area and a 7 m high “floating” bird watching tower.

LŪŽŅU DITCH SULPHUR SPRINGAn approximately 3-km long route offers you to extend your walks around the Ķemeri area, going to the strongest of the known sulphur springs - the Lūžņu Ditch Sulphur Spring, which hides deeper in the woods. The route begins at the informa-tion centre “Meža māja” and on the way to the source also offers one of the best bird watching opportunities - especially for watching woodpeckers.
