Introduction

The purpose of this Style Guide is to preserve the look and feel of the five available templates (shown on the left). They were carefully crafted to promote your company’s marketing message in the most impactful way, ultimately supporting the perceived value of Gartner content. Following the guide will ensure the integrity of the original designs.

The templates have different characteristics that make each unique. The Contemporary template is a new template choice. We have decided to retire the Classic template. One characteristic is the underlying grid struc-ture which highlights the editorial content in varied ways. Other elements include your choice of color selection and visual imagery which all support each concept.

Word and character counts are specified for editorial content. In some instances, word counts are used to identify full pages while character counts are used to identify smaller, more specific areas.

Exact dimensions for graphics and spacing are also provided.

IntroductionThis template has different characteristics that make it unique. One characteristic is the underlying grid structure which highlights the editorial content in varied ways. Other elements include visual imagery which all support each concept. Graphics can be swapped out per the clients needs, such as, business people, headshots, computer equipment, etc.

Word and character counts are specified for editorial content. In some instances, word counts are used to identify full pages while character counts are used to identify smaller, more specific areas.

Cover 1

A choice of vibrant colors, fonts, and two-column grid all give the piece a cutting-edge appeal.

The colors below will be used throughout the newsletter. If you prefer you can use your brand colors, a main color and an accent color.

The colors below can be used as accent colors in graphics.

Client logo needs to fit in designated area. This logo must be centered horizontally and vertically in that space. A minimum of .50” whitespace must be maintained all around. You must send a transparent image or a layered file. Depending on the image that you choose for the cover, the logo may need to be white so it is visible. Keep in mind the Gartner logo also needs to be visible so we may have to adjust the placement of the lo-gos or the opacity of the image to clearly see the logos. The client logo has to be placed at the top of the page and the Gartner logo has to be placed at the bottom of the cover per Gartner Branding Guidelines.

Date or Issue number is News Gothic MT Regular 13/15 and its position can-not be altered. The date can be removed.

Masthead title can be a maximum of 2 lines long. Font size and white space around should be maintained. Font is News Gothic MT Regular 36/40. Maximum character count is 60 with spaces.

Tagline size should be maintained and has a maximum character count of 80. Font is News Gothic MT Regular 20/24.

In this issue font is News Gothic MT Bold 14/18.

Table of contents font and size cannot be changed or moved. Minimum .40” of space from the bottom of the page. Font is News Gothic MT Regular 9/13. There is a color overlay background which cannot be swapped out for any of the other color choices. We will also link the table of contents to each article.

Photo may be switched here. Vertical, full color, photos such as the one shown are encouraged.

Position and size of Gartner logo cannot be altered. This is in accordance with Gartner branding guidelines.

Table of Contents

If you have an indepth or long table of contents it can reside on page 2 instead of the cover. We will create the table of contents based on article titles and subhead levels, linking to the appropriate pages.

We can also add a bookmark feature which is in addition to the table of contents. This feature is available when you view your PDF file and turn on your bookmarks on the left hand side of the page (see below). You can click on the bookmarks to take you to a particular page or section.
