ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
With all-round developments taking place in India, major projects, particularlyinfrastructureprojectsandmegaprojectsarebeingimplementedindifferentpartsofthecountry.Developmentalprojectsalsoaccompanyvariousdisputes.Inspiteofone’sbestefforts to avoid disputes, the disputes have become part and parcel of their contractual relationship. In order to complete projects without cost or time overrun, suitablemechanism should be in place to resolve disputes as and when they arise.
TheamendedArbitrationandConciliationAct,1996hasraisedmuchhopewhichpromisesto be effective tool for speedy and cost effective dispute resolution besides facilitating implementationofforeignawards.ThisaugurswellforraisingthelevelofeaseofdoingbusinessinthecountrythuspavingwayforattractingmoreForeignDirectInvestments.
India,wherenumbersofprojectsbyMNC’saregoingon,hasthepotentialofbecomingthehubofInternationalArbitration.Thehurdlesifanyinthiscontexthavetobeidentifiedandremoved.TheConferenceisorganizedtoaddresstheseproblems,besidesupdatingknowledgeonthesubjectandhonetheskillsofpractisingandaspiringADR.

Selection of papers for presentation will be based on abstracts. An abstract must include aclear indicationofthepurposeofresearch,methodology,majorresults, implicationsandkeyreferences.Theyshouldadheretothefollowing:1. Abstract & full paper must contain the name of the author/s, complete address,
e-mailidandmobilenumber.Theabstractshouldbeoriginalandmustnotexceed250wordsincludingthetitleandreferences.
2. CitationsandreferencesshouldcomplywiththeILI(Law)ofreferencing.FordetailsonILIreferencingstyle,pleasevisithttp://www.ili.ac.in/footnoting12.pdfrespectively.
3. SubmissionmustbeinMS-Wordformat(nootherformatwillbeaccepted)withallfoursides1inchmargin.ShouldbetypedinTimesNewRomanwithfontsizeof12.Papertitlein14(Bold)andallsub-headingsin12(Bold)andlinespacingat1.5.

description of the research issues including socio-legal analysis of the problem, precedents and judicial decisions, impact and implications, possible outcomes and the solutions. It should not exceed 3000 words.
