CHARRO DAY CELEBRATION We will be celebrating Charro Days on Feb. 27th. Students will be allowed to dress up in traditional Charro Days outfits. Students not participating with Charro Days outfit must be in complete Thursday uniform (khaki pants, polo shirts, black belt & shoes).

OPERATIONS CORNER: ATTENDANCE GOAL 98% Cumulative Attendance: 98.24% ATTENDANCE GOAL 97.5% ATTENDANCE Parents, we appreciate the great effort being made thus far to have students in school on time. Please continue supporting us as we encourage students to be on time to school everyday. Student Attendance and the Monitoring of Student Absenteeism: Texas State law states: A student, who fails to attend classes for at least 90% of the days the class is offered, cannot receive credit for the class—even if the absences were excused by the school district for medical or other reasons. (TEC 25.092) It is mandatory for you and your child to comply with the Texas State law requirement. Students not complying will be placed on an excessive absence probationary notice for the 2013-14 school year and will be at risk of being retained for excessiveabsences. CHARGETTES: ENGLISH:
Charro Days Parades: We will be participating during the Charro Days Parades February 27th-‐March 1. We will be having a float. We will begin decorating the float on Saturday, February 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please bring scissors and stapleguns to staple wood. Only those children whose parents help decorate the float will be allowed to participate in the parade on Thursday, February 27. Children will be wearing any type of traditional mexican costume for the parades. Parents will receive service hours for volunteering their time and hard work. SPANISH: Desfile de Charros: Participaremos durante los Desfiles de Días de Charro 27 de febrero al 1 de marzo. Tendremos un carro alegorico. Nos reuniremos el sabado, 22 de febrero de 10 a.m. a 3:00 p.m. para decorar el carro. Por favor de traer tijeras y pistola de grapadoras para grapar madera. Sólo esos niños cuales padres ayuden a decorar el carro alegorico será permitidos tomar parte en el desfile el jueves, 27 de febrero. Los niños llevarán cualquier tipo de disfraz mexicano tradicional para los desfiles. Los padres recibiran horas de servicios de voluntarios por su tiempo y trabajo. NURSE’S CORNER Parents, Just a friendly reminder, for those students that failed the following screenings, Vision, Hearing, Diabetes, please take the time to take your child to the doctor for a further evaluation. Screening results must be turned in to the state. It is very important for your child’s vision, hearing or borderline diabetes to be corrected for his/her success.
