Regional Family Resource Network coordinates monthly networking meetings among family, provider and community representatives in Boone, Kanawha and Putnam Counties, West Virginia. Regional Family Resource Network strives to help increase community awareness of local and state issues that affect children and families; assist community groups to work together to identify and address local issues using relevant information; support local partners in working together to maximize community investments; promote the coordination of existing community services to maximize benefits to families; encourage the provision of local services and programs in a way that respects and supports families; and promote opportunities for families to impact decisions that affect them.

Braxton FRN, known as Braxton Community Coalition, strives to meet the needs of the community. We focus on members of our community maintaining good health, our children succeeding in school, parents having the resources that they need to properly care for their families, and all community members having knowledge of the resources that they need to live safely and with stability. We work with various programs that offer education on parenting, finances, relationships, bullying, and prescription drug abuse. We also work with a program to help three local organizations receive dollars to stock their food pantries. We work to provide resource fairs to the community so that they can gain resource information that they may have not been aware that is available to them.

The Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network (BHFRN) is dedicated to reinforcing community partnerships, establishing services where needed, and uncovering specific problems in the community while helping solve those problems. The BHFRN has a monthly meeting to network with community partners and

We have several committees that help to accomplish this goal: • ASAP – takes a stand against the abuse of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. • Children and Families – works with our Resource Center and Parents as Teachers program to strengthen families. • Concerned Citizens –takes on the issues of homelessness. • Special Needs provides networking and learning opportunities on disability issues while creating recreational activities for needed socialization. • Top of WV Community Resource Day – plans an annual event to bring resources and information to the community.

The DCFRN is located in the Doddridge County Center for Children and Families which is in the old Smithburg School Building. The FRN is an agency committed to strengthening community partnerships, establishing programs and services where needs exist, targeting specific problems in the community and helping to solve them. We identify needs and opportunities, then problem solve to find real workable solutions. We develop strategic plans to connect community needs with community resources. As part of the plan, we provide technical assistance, resources, pursue funding opportunities, and help to build the capacity of our community to achieve positive change. The FRN promotes prevention by supporting programs that help families early, streamline service, and act as a clearing house for

Our purpose is to give Fayette County citizens the opportunities to improve the quality of life through community capacity building and collaboration. Our mission is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through education, mobilization, resource development, interagency coordination, strategic planning, needs assessments, and ongoing evaluation of services. Current strategies include child abuse/neglect prevention and substance abuse prevention. Activities include family awareness conferences addressing child abuse/neglect issues and presentation of the Reality Tour, a substance abuse prevention education program. We also participate in the Prevention without Borders grant and Region H Tobacco Prevention mini- grant.

The Gilmer County Family Resource Network helps to coordinate education and awareness efforts among agencies dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Gilmer County. The Gilmer County FRN also works to raise awareness about relevant health and social issues and to link the community to useful programs and services. The Gilmer FRN works closely with substance abuse prevention coalitions in Gilmer and surrounding counties, as well as the Calhoun-Gilmer chronic disease treatment and prevention coalition to coordinate prevention efforts around these and other issues that impact families and children.

We collaborate actively with PHG Substance Abuse and Tobacco Prevention Coalitions. The ERFRN is a

The FRN of Greenbrier County is a local coordinating body of services for children and families. We currently have several different committees addressing the identified needs in our area. These committees include: Early childhood committee which offers community baby showers and hosts an annual training event; IMPACT Youth Coalition hosts an annual Teen Expo and addresses substance abuse issues; FCOC Emergency Assistance committee assists families with heating bills HOPE Coalition is working to raise awareness and educate our community of the increased suicides; Healthy Families, Healthy Children is providing a wide variety of educational training throughout out county.

The Harrison County Family Resource Network, Inc. (HCFRN) was established in 2007 by collaboration between Community Mental Health, Department of Health and Human Resources, Harrison County Health Department, Harrison County Board of Education,

The purpose of the HCFRN is to conduct collaborative planning and evaluation of health and human services with communities and the organizations that serve them in order to promote effective service delivery. As such, the HCFRN strives to provide funding for services not otherwise available to consumers in the community

Community Connections collaborates among multiple sectors of the Mercer County community to promote a positive environment for youth and families. In so doing, the Family Resource Network has become a leader in advocating for public policy change, coalition building, media advocacy, and the commencement of multiple programs. Community Connections works closely with the Creating Opportunities for Youth (COFY) Community Coalition, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), and many others. We identify ways to systematically alleviate problematic issues and have created a strong network of community leaders and key stakeholders to make our families stronger. The Mercer County Family Resource Network has become a local expert in family issues and is a source of inspiration for community-wide support.

(MCFRN) works within the community collaboratively with agencies/organizations that serve families with children to help the community they live in evolve into a place where every child, family, and individual will have the opportunity for a safe, productive, and satisfying life. The Mineral County Family Resource Network (MCFRN) supports and promotes the collaboration of all citizens in order to develop strategies for our community to succeed. The MCFRN participates in a variety of activities aimed at maximizing this community’s potential through assessing needs and problem solving, without providing direct services.

The Tucker County Family Resource Network assists in the identification of local needs and facilitates planning and coordination of support services for individuals living in Tucker County. Resource Network, main goal is to support and promote the collaboration of all citizens in Wayne County in order to develop strategies to improve the service delivery system for families.
