The Barbour County Family Resource Network strives to improve outcomes for all children, families, and individuals by ensuring needed services are in place, through annually assessing the community’s healthcare, mental healthcare, educational, recreational opportunities, social services, and other pertinent areas of concern. Regional Family Resource Network coordinates monthly networking meetings among family, provider and community representatives in Boone, Kanawha and Putnam Counties, West Virginia. Regional Family Resource Network strives to help increase community awareness of local and state issues that affect children and families; assist community groups to work together to identify and address local issues using relevant information; support local partners in working together to maximize community investments; promote the coordination of existing community services to maximize benefits to families; encourage the provision of local services and programs in a way that respects and supports families; and promote opportunities for families to impact decisions that affect them.

Braxton FRN, known as Braxton Community Coalition, strives to meet the needs of the community. We focus on members of our community maintaining good health, our children succeeding in school, parents having the resources that they need to properly care for their families, and all community members having knowledge of the resources that they need to live safely and with stability. We work with various programs that offer education on parenting, finances, relationships, bullying, and prescription drug abuse. We also work with a program to help three local organizations receive dollars to stock their food pantries. We work to provide resource fairs to the community so that they can gain resource information that they may have not been aware that is available to them.

The Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network (BHFRN) is dedicated to reinforcing community partnerships, establishing services where needed, and uncovering specific problems in the community while helping solve those problems. The BHFRN has a monthly meeting to network with community partners and
representatives throughout Brooke and Hancock Counties. We have several committees that help to accomplish this goal: • ASAP – takes a stand against the abuse of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. • Children and Families – works with our Resource Center and Parents as Teachers program to strengthen families. • Concerned Citizens –takes on the issues of homelessness. • Special Needs provides networking and learning opportunities on disability issues while creating recreational activities for needed socialization. • Top of WV Community Resource Day – plans an annual event to bring resources and information to the community.

Cabell County Family Resource Network is a partnership of individuals, families and agencies working together to promote the well-being of children and families. Project Areas are: EDUCATION: Communities In Schools “Connecting resources to empower students to achieve personal excellence.”
WELLNESS: Partners In Prevention promotes ways to help children grow up safe and healthy. Strengthening Families network focuses on: social emotional development of children, and the parent’s resiliency, support network, concrete supports, and understanding child development. FAMILY CENTERED PRACTICE: Workshops (2- hour “Our Town” or 6-hour Family Center Practice) are conducted.

The Calhoun County FRN has a mission to promote a better standard of living, encourage better decision- making, and increase leadership in families and youth in Calhoun County. The DCFRN is located in the Doddridge County Center for Children and Families which is in the old Smithburg School Building. The FRN is an agency committed to strengthening community partnerships, establishing programs and services where needs exist, targeting specific problems in the community and helping to solve them. We identify needs and opportunities, then problem solve to find real workable solutions. We develop strategic plans to connect community needs with community resources. As part of the plan, we provide technical assistance, resources, pursue funding opportunities, and help to build the capacity of our community to achieve positive change. The FRN promotes prevention by supporting programs that help families early, streamline service, and act as a clearing house for
information about local needs and available services.

Our purpose is to give Fayette County citizens the opportunities to improve the quality of life through community capacity building and collaboration. Our mission is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through education, mobilization, resource development, interagency coordination, strategic planning, needs assessments, and ongoing evaluation of services. Current strategies include child abuse/neglect prevention and substance abuse prevention. Activities include family awareness conferences addressing child abuse/neglect issues and presentation of the Reality Tour, a substance abuse prevention education program. We also participate in the Prevention without Borders grant and Region H Tobacco Prevention mini- grant.

The Gilmer County Family Resource Network helps to coordinate education and awareness efforts among agencies dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Gilmer County. The Gilmer County FRN also works to raise awareness about relevant health and social issues and to link the community to useful programs and services. The Gilmer FRN works closely with substance abuse prevention coalitions in Gilmer and surrounding counties, as well as the Calhoun-Gilmer chronic disease treatment and prevention coalition to coordinate prevention efforts around these and other issues that impact families and children.

The ERFRN covers Hampshire, Hardy, Grant and Pendleton Counties. Our vision is to strengthen our local families through education, resource development and networking. The ERFRN has Partners in Prevention (P.I.P) Teams in each county and Healthy Families/Healthy Children grants in three counties. We collaborate actively with PHG Substance Abuse and Tobacco Prevention Coalitions. The ERFRN is a
member of the Upper Potomac Children’s Collaborative.

The FRN of Greenbrier County is a local coordinating body of services for children and families. We currently have several different committees addressing the identified needs in our area. These committees include: Early childhood committee which offers community baby showers and hosts an annual training event; IMPACT Youth Coalition hosts an annual Teen Expo and addresses substance abuse issues; FCOC Emergency Assistance committee assists families with heating bills HOPE Coalition is working to raise awareness and educate our community of the increased suicides; Healthy Families, Healthy Children is providing a wide variety of educational training throughout out county.

The Harrison County Family Resource Network, Inc. (HCFRN) was established in 2007 by collaboration between Community Mental Health, Department of Health and Human Resources, Harrison County Health Department, Harrison County Board of Education,
and the Harrison County Child Abuse Task Force. These agencies felt the need for a single entity to collaborative and organize services to better meet the needs of Harrison County Residents. The purpose of the HCFRN is to conduct collaborative planning and evaluation of health and human services with communities and the organizations that serve them in order to promote effective service delivery. As such, the HCFRN strives to provide funding for services not otherwise available to consumers in the community

The FRN is on a mission to improve the lives in Lewis County by developing and supporting programs for families in need. Monthly Board meetings are held on the first Monday with the Prevention Coalition on the second Monday. Committees and programs currently supported are: Regional and Local Tobacco
Education, Breast and Cervical Services and Education, Colorectal Health, Parent and Child Health, Children’s Insurance Program Outreach, Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Prevention, Nutrition Education and Food Assistance, Testicular and Prostate Health, Immunization Education, Prescription and Substance Abuse Education and Prevention, Bullying Prevention, and Family Enrichment Events.

Lincoln County Family Resource Network currently has four Working Groups: Education, Safe and Stable Families, Health and Prevention, and Communication and Coordination. The Lincoln FRN was established in July 1996 by Lincoln County Advisory Council. Lincoln County Family Resource Network is committed to serving children and families of Lincoln County. McDowell County FACES works closely with nonprofits, education, government, law enforcement, faith, health, youth serving, and other organizations and agencies to provide a neutral table where representatives can address children and family issues pertinent to McDowell County. FACES support substance prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery efforts. FACES support efforts to address diabetes and other health issue in the county. FACES serves on the SAFE Board,
Wastewater Treatment Coalition Board, Wellness Council, Reconnect McDowell, and HubCap Community Collaborative Team.

Community Connections collaborates among multiple sectors of the Mercer County community to promote a positive environment for youth and families. In so doing, the Family Resource Network has become a leader in advocating for public policy change, coalition building, media advocacy, and the commencement of multiple programs. Community Connections works closely with the Creating Opportunities for Youth (COFY) Community Coalition, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), and many others. We identify ways to systematically alleviate problematic issues and have created a strong network of community leaders and key stakeholders to make our families stronger. The Mercer County Family Resource Network has become a local expert in family issues and is a source of inspiration for community-wide support.

The Mineral County Family Resource Network (MCFRN) supports and promotes the collaboration of all citizens in order to develop strategies for our community to succeed. The MCFRN participates in a variety of activities aimed at maximizing this community’s potential through assessing needs and problem solving, without providing direct services.

The Mingo County Family Resource Network is a non- profit organization that focuses on promoting safe and healthy families. We collaborate with local, county and state agencies to identify needs/gaps in services and assist in the facilitation of a plan to meet those gaps. With the understanding that we are focusing on families, input and participation from family representatives is always welcomed and encouraged. The MCFRN has worked on promoting
safe and healthy families through coordinating activities for Partners in Prevention (child abuse prevention), Walk for Women (breast cancer), drug abuse awareness and others as requested.

Ohio County FRN provides many opportunities for citizens to come to the table with professionals and area leaders to voice concerns, opinions and perspectives on challenges and strengths in the community. The General Membership Meetings are every other month. These are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Committees include: Partners in Prevention (Child Abuse Prevention), Early childhood/School
Readiness, Disabilities, and Health/Wellness. The FRN is also a collaborative partner in the Ohio County Tobacco Prevention Coalition, Health Families Health Children Coalition, and Ohio County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of many events. The Ohio County FRN is located at 56 13th Street in Wheeling, WV. Office hours are typically Monday- Thursday 9-3.

Pleasants County Committee on Family Issues strives to provide the community support needed to ensure a healthy, productive, safe environment for the children and families in our county. The support and strengthening of families is provided through promotion of interagency collaboration based on local needs. All our activities are community-based, family- centered, and prevention- oriented. We coordinate Community Baby Showers; the Gabriel Project; Back- to-School events; tobacco prevention activities, etc. We do not provide direct services.

Preston County Caring Council Inc. DBA Preston Family Resource Network PCCC FRN is a community-based coalition, diverse in membership, which include family members, service providers, and non- providers that plan, coordinate and implement local service improvements for children and families. Every community has agencies, individuals, churches, organizations that are working hard to help children and families. These groups have traditionally worked alone, following their own individual paths and meeting their own individual goals. When individuals and groups work side-by- side, they have the capacity to ensure that services are not being duplicated and that no family or child falls through the cracks. The power of partnerships has been given to Raleigh County through the Family Resource Network. The Raleigh County FRN promote outcomes such as, safe communities, stable homes, strong families, healthy people, children ready for school, and skilled workforce.

The Tucker County Family Resource Network assists in the identification of local needs and facilitates planning and coordination of support services for individuals living in Tucker County. The TCFRN works on a collaborative basis with a local interagency network and broad based consumer representation. Local citizens as well as representatives from DHHR, behavioral health, school system, health agencies, early childhood groups, faith-based entities, law enforcement, after school programs and a wide range of businesses and civic organizations are part of our network. The Upshur County Family Resource Network envisions a time when all Upshur County families are whole, well, and capable of independently meeting their needs in a supportive and safe community environment. We collectively seek through collaboration among Upshur County’s community service agencies and the families served to provide access to essential services and agencies that will: Strengthen the family unit by fostering prevention measures and education Enhance families’ capabilities to act on their own behalf Locate and choose among relevant resources and Focus on family needs.

Resource Network, main goal is to support and promote the collaboration of all citizens in Wayne County in order to develop strategies to improve the service delivery system for families. We conduct monthly membership meetings and currently has four very active committees-Jobs and Education, Community, Housing, and Health and Wellness. The Committees participates in a wide variety of activities aimed at identifying community needs, improving access to services, and mobilizing and evaluating services, such as Parent Chats, Job Fair, back to school events, health screening and substance abuse prevention projects. We do not provide direct services.

Webster County Family Resource Network was formed in 1994 through a grant from The Governor’s Cabinet on Children and Families. Our vision is to facilitate needed systemic changes by working closely and cooperatively with all levels of government to enhance service delivery and promote collaboration among and between consumers, providers and the communities at large. We are a non-profit umbrella agency that seeks to provide networking
opportunities for agencies, businesses, individuals and other members of the community who are interested in providing services for the children and families of our communities in Webster County.

The Wetzel County Family Resource Network strives to “Support & Strengthen Families”. Wyoming County Family Resource Network, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, coordinates monthly networking meetings among family, provider and community representatives in Wyoming County, West Virginia. The Family Resource Network strives to help increase community awareness of local and state issues that affect children and families; assist community groups to work together to identify and address local issues using relevant information; support local partners in working together to maximize community investments; promote the coordination of existing community services to maximize benefits to families; encourage the provision of local services and programs in a way that respects and supports families; and promote opportunities for families to impact decisions that affect them.
