TENS-HUT, Vets:

Several CCPL veterans with service dates spanning at least a half century met to activate a veterans ser-

vice group a the church. It was agreed that the church community and the veterans would all bene-fit from such a group. “CCPL Veterans in Christ” was initiated at a meeting held on at the church on

May 27,2021. A mission statement is being pre-pared to be presented at the next meeting held on

June 24th at 6:30pm. Anyone interested should in-quire at the Church office or contact one of the fol-lowing: Ben Walker, Don Hutchison, Don George

Sr., Jack Ford, Lee Barnes, Jim Twiddy or Harry Warner. All vets are welcome to attend.

MISSIONS AND PRAYER

Matt & Emily Musser and family will be returning to the field. Here are some excerpts from their latest newsletter:

“We are writing to let you know that we finally received our visas! We have been feverishly packing, sorting and getting together with friends and family “one last time”. Our plan is to drive up to Chicago on the 26th and 27th (of May). We will spend 2 weeks with Matt’s family, and we plan to fly out of Chicago on June 10th.

These almost two years at home have served as such a sweet time of healing and a somber reminder that our purpose in this life isn’t to “do ministry” for God. Our purpose is to know Christ and to be made more and more like Him. To know Him so well and so deeply that it overflows and spills out and others can’t help but see it and want to drink from it…..

We all have mixed emotions as we think of returning to our home in Papua – excitement, apprehension, joy, sadness, etc. …. Please pray for our kids as the goodbyes are going to be really hard. They are excited about going back to Papua, but they have made some really close and deep friendships in the youth group at our home church and it’s going to be really hard to say goodbye.

Upon returning to Indonesia, we will have to quarantine in the capital of Jakarta for 5 days. Then we will fly on to Papua from there.

Prayer Requests:

Packing up and saying goodbye – SO hard! Travel to Indonesia in a COVID world – including at least 4 PCR tests Quarantine in Jakarta”

It was a blessing that Matt & Emily and their kids took the time to travel to Ohio and spend a weekend with us here at CCPL. We’re grateful to be able to partner with them.

I received a phone call from Richard Sharp with Operation Mobilization (OM). He was filling me in on his 8-week trip to Egypt. Richard had been there for 3 weeks when they asked him to extend it for 5 more weeks. He agreed to if they would bring his wife Rachel over to join him. During this time, he said he had the opportunity to speak 94 times. Most of this time was spent teaching about the One Wish evange-listic tool (which he also had presented here at CCPL). He was very excited to see how well received it was and is looking forward to hearing how many people have come to Christ as a result of this tool.

As always, please continue to pray for all our missionary partners and mission agencies.
