onstruction is beginning to rise above street level on the 24-story, 62-
unit mixed-use building under development at 1050 Sixth Avenue, located
between West 39th and 40th streets in Midtown. YIMBY has a photo of the C

progress on the structure, which will eventually measure 62,886 square feet and rise
261 feet to its rooftop when completed. The bulkhead will top out at 299 feet,
according to the latest building permits.
The building will contain 62 rental apartments, averaging 833 square feet apiece,
across the second through 24th floors. There will also be 2,710 square feet of ground-
floor retail space. Skyline Developers, which is the New York City branch of Garden
Homes Development, is the developer. Gene Kaufman’s SoHo-based firm is the design
and executive architect. Completion is expected in Summer 2018.
