”At ArcelorMittal Construction Solutions (AMCS) we seek to create new milestones in delivering exceptional value to our customers.
We are a specialist reinforcement solutions provider and we take pride in the quality of the products and services we deliver.
Our engineers and technicians use of the latest BIM technology, 3D modelling and high-tech assembly processes to re-evaluate even the most complex reinforcement assemblies and re-configure them into modular elements for pre-assembly at our works.
We challenge the accepted norms that believe that complex reinforcement structures cannot be pre-assembled off site and by doing so, we deliver, to our customers the benefits of speed, accuracy, safety and production certainty on the project.
By focussing on a small number of projects where we can add the most value, we deliver exceptional quality of products and services for our customers.
We very much look forward to working with you.”

ArcelorMittal Construction Solutions
AMCS provides engineered reinforcing steel solutions to the UK construction market. We focus on developing close working relation-ships with our customers to optimise designs and to generate customised, prefabricated elements that speed up the construction process. We achieve this through the use of a range of specialist, innovative techniques and the application of the principles of design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) delivered by our highly skilled team of designers, fabricators and managers.
As part of ArcelorMittal Kent Wire, we are based in Chatham Docks in Kent where reinforcing steel products have been manufactured since 1988. AMCS benefits hugely, not just from the wealth of knowledge and manufacturing experience of the UK’s largest mesh fabric producer, but also from the technical resource and financial stability provided by the ArcelorMittal group.
ArcelorMittal Group
ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading integrated steel and mining company, with a presence in more than 60 countries Worldwide. It is the leader in all major global carbon steel markets, including automotive, construction, household appliances and packaging, with industry-leading R&D and technology.

Products and Services 3D modelling for prefabrication The focus of the AMCS team is to convert schemes previously detailed in loose bar into ones incorporating reinforcement solutions that generate construction efficiencies by saving time, reducing the amount of expensive site resource and ultimately money for our customers. Our engineers and detailers have extensive experience in re-detailing schemes to optimise the reinforcement installation having cognisance to the contractors work methodologies, site restrictions and transport constraints.
By working closely with the lead designers and our contractor customers, AMCS can improve the efficiency and the cost effectiveness of the concrete reinforcement by the identification of:
Potential for the use of standard elements •(standard fabric reinforcement)Potential for the use of bespoke factory made elements •(non-standard and special fabrics)Potential for the use of prefabricated elements•Potential for the use of prefabricated sub-assemblies•Potential for the reconfiguration of the Reinforcement •into modular assemblies of the above factory – made elements
We utilise the latest ion Building Information Model (BIM) and 3D modelling software to create virtual models of even the most complex elements, identify and solve clashes and buildability issues and to “disassemble” the elements into manageable sub-assemblies, suitable for off-site construction, transportation and on-site reassembly
Benefits of prefabricated reinforcing cages
By designing any reinforcement using a combination of factory made elements such as standard and special fabric and prefabricated welded cages, efficiencies can be achieved through:
Increased speed of construction•Increased accuracy of placement with less setting out required •Cages delivered to just-in-time schedules reduce site storage•Complex areas are simplified with just cages to place•No bundles of loose bars and tying wire around the site•Less labour required•Reduced manual lifting•Reduced risk of errors leading to on-site amendments•

A dimensional sketch shall be drawn over the dimension columns A to E. Every dimension shall be specifi ed and the dimension that is to allow for permissible deviations shall be indicated in parenthesis, otherwise the fabricator is free to choose which dimensions shall allow for tolerance.
To be calculated
See Note 2.
The values for minimum radius and end projection, r and P respectively, as specifi ed in Table 2, shall apply to all shape codes (see 7.6).The dimensions in parenthesis are the free dimensions. If a shape given in this table is required but a different dimension is to allow for the possible deviations, the shape shall be drawn out and given the shape code 99 and the free dimension shall be indicated in parenthesis. The length of straight between two bends shall be at least 4d, see fi gure 6.Figures 4, 5 and 6 should be used in the interpretation of bending dimensions.
NOTE 1 The length equations for shape codes 14, 15, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36 and 46 are approximate and where the bend angle is greater than 45º, the length should be calculated more accurately allowing for the difference between the specifi ed overall dimensions and the true length measured along the central axis of the bar. When the bending angles approach 90º, it is preferable to specify shape code 99 with a fully dimensional sketch.
NOTE 2 Five bends or more might be impractical within permitted tolerances.
NOTE 3 For shapes with straight and curved lengths (e.g. shape codes 12, 13, 22, 33 and 47) the largest practical mandrel size for the production of a continuous curve is 400mm. See also Clause 10.

Prefabricated productsSpecial mesh and prefabAt AMCS, we specialise in taking the outline reinforcement design (rather than a fully detailed project) and developing an optimised reinforcement solution using a combination of special mesh and prefabricated elements. This is achieved through experienced 3D detailers working with clients to produce arrangements that are then manufactured using bespoke automated jig systems that ensure accuracy of placement, certainty of fit and an enhancement of the overall quality of the process.
Pile CagesAMCS manufacture a full range of bespoke welded pile reinforcement cages to customer specifications up to 18metres in length and up to 2m in diameter as a standard single element. We carry out all manufacture to CARES accredited quality systems and processes using innovative bespoke machinery and techniques..
All cages are thoroughly detailed and CAD fabrication drawings are produced by its team prior to assembly. These can then be used to check the cage (prior to manufacture), as an assembly tool, for site inspection or for as
built records.
Diaphragm Wall CagesAMCS specialise in the manufacture of Diaphragm wall cages. Our 3D modelling capabilities enable us to analyse
even the most complex assemblies to identify and solve buildability issues, detect and fix clashes and to break up
the cage into sub-assemblies for manufacture and assembly on system and bespoke jigs. Our facilities easily
accommodate elements in excess of 30 tons in weight and in assemblies up to 80m in length allowing us
assemble multi-part cages at our works for subsequent disassembly for transport with the certainty of easy
re-assembly on site.
