• Developed from recommendations on safety in the 1980’s with emphasis on: – Planning process – Accident prevention – Communication , then – Evolving to incorporate new legislation and concerns - Six
Pack, Health issues, CDM – Need for additional courses
• supervisor and operative level training, TWC • And environmental good practice - SEATS
• Aims to provide the industry agreed standard and encourage Safe, Efficient, Economic sites
Course Aims & Objectives
• Developed for Construction Supervisors/Managers who will be able to:
– Understand the need to protect the environment
– Integrate environmental management systems into the management of the site
– Understand the impact archaeology and heritage can have on the site
– Be a responsible contractor and good neighbour

– What is waste? – Duty of care and transfer
