OverviewOverview

The NI base plate of Sanmen NPP Phase I project, made of reinforcement concrete, is located on the joint foundation of Containment building and Auxiliary building. As the three sides of the containment building foundation were embedded into the foundation of Auxiliary buildingthe containment building foundation were embedded into the foundation of Auxiliary building, the base plate takes the shape of a polygon, which is 78m in length, 1.83m in thickness, with maximum width being 49 m, minimum width 27m and local thickness in the containment

Advantages Advantages of Modularized of Modularized ConstructionConstruction

Progress Perspective: The fabrication and assembly of modules could beProgress Perspective: The fabrication and assembly of modules could be performed outside of NI and in parallel with the civil construction inside NI, which accelerates the construction progress.

Quality Perspective: Modules are fabricated in specialized fab-shops off site and assembled on site assembly area, which facilitates quality control.

HSE and Housekeeping Perspective: The prefabrication and assembly of modules are done outside of the NI, which reduces the work quantity on NI site and is b fi i l f f d h k ibeneficial for safety and housekeeping management.

Prerequisite of Modularized ConstructionPrerequisite of Modularized Construction

The key prerequisite to achieve modularized construction is the matching between module fabrication and site construction logic, i.e., the design andbetween module fabrication and site construction logic, i.e., the design and fabrication of modules must meet the need of site construction.
