the wax to the fabric over your pencil5. Water down your chosen colour of fabric paint and paint

the fabric6. The wax will resist the paint7. When dry, sandwich fabric between several layers of

newspaper and iron with a hot iron8. Check the wax has melted off the fabric and been

absorbed by the newspaper9. Continue with fresh newspaper until the fabric is no

longer stiff from the wax

Tips for success:Plan your layout first. Use a variety of objects, fill the space, cut neatly, use glue carefully and in small amounts

Watercolours (Material): are pigments compressed together to form blocks in different colours that can be dissolved with water and then used for painting.

Watercolour painting: is normally on paper using watercolour paints. Watercolour is usually transparent and lets the paper shine through. When using watercolour the white is achieved by not painting the paper.

Tip: Watercolour is transparent (see-through)

Don’t use colour too thickly. Avoid using white to make your colours lighter instead use more water and let the white paper add brightness to your work.
