Depth control guide for anchor hole

Depth control guide

Inspection of undercut holeThe depth control guide is used to inspect the hole. With it, all major dimensions of the hole are checked, the hole depth is set and the life of the drill bit monitored. Each KEIL facade anchor has a matching gauge with feeler gauge.Application Place bottom part of depth control guide into the undercut hole. Insert bolt to stop. The hole is OK if the bolt can be completely pushed to bottom part. Pull out bolt Push feeler gauge between panel and bottom part of guide.

The hole is OK if the bolt now cannot be pushed to the bottom part. Correct hole depth, if required.

Monitoring – checking the depth control guide:The undercut diameter of the guide is monito-red by means of the sizing hole in the feeler gauge. Place bottom part of guide into sizing hole of feeler gauge. Insert bolt to stop. If the guide can now be pulled out of the hole, it must be replaced.

Washer for depth control guide

For textured facade panel backs (e.g. ceramic), a reference surface is created for the measurement of the insertion depth hS using the washer. As the washer is 3 mm thick, a depth control gauge with a 3 mm deeper insertion depth must be used. The measurement for checking the under-cut hole is then carried out as described

with the depth control gauge. The feeler gauge is placed between washer and depth control gauge.

Example: For an insertion depth of hSP=7mm in the panel and use of a 3 mm washer, a depth control gauge with an insertion depth of hS=10mm is to be used.

Explanation of torque values

The Keil anchor functions on the basis of a so-called undercut or form locking principal. The segments of the anchor are forced into the pre drilled undercut hole and thus form lock with the substrate or base material, without exerting any pressure on the base material until such time that a load is applied to the anchor. A high level of safety is assured with the Keil anchor, as the anchor will only fi t if the corresponding hole has been correctly drilled and undercut. By limiting the installation torque, a safe installation is assured.

Battery quick charger with replacement batter

The General Building Approval and the European Technical Assessment (Approval) (ETA) requires that the Keil anchor is installed to a specifi c installation torque [Nm]value. The installation of the anchor is only permitted with the use of a suitable cordless torque driver power tool with the following setting: 2,5 Nm ≤ Tinst ≤ 4,0 Nm.

An installation is only possible with the use of the appropriate cordless torque driver power tool. They should have a proven machine- and process capability.

Upon request, we are able to provide details and information regarding any of the respective torque power or setting tools for an installation.

Screw driver

The screw driver limits the screw-in depth of a grub screw into an undercut anchor. The grub screw is screwed in using the screw driver until it reaches the stop in the undercut anchor. The joint integrated into the screw driver ensures that the grub screw remains in position in the undercut anchor during screwing in.

This ensures that the grub screw is fi tted fl ush with the tip of the undercut anchor. The correct screw-in depth must be moni-tored. The individual projection has to be deter-mined for every combination of undercut anchor and grub screw length. See the installation instructions for further information.

Circulating water supply

The 2 chamber stainless steel water tank collects the cooling water and provides it again at constant pressure for drilling and un-dercutting using the diamond facade drill bits. The drilling dust settles out due to the 2 chamber system. The fi lter ensures that clean cooling water is made available. The fi lter monitor shows when the fi lter must be cleaned or replaced.

A strong industrial pump provides a cons-tant supply pressure, even if several drills are connected. When using the circulating water supply, it is possible to mix cooling lubricant into the water. This protects all metals parts from corrosion and can increase the life of the diamond facade drill bits.
