UPCOMING EVENTS AND NEWS
Welcome to worship at Faith Reformed Church. Worship is granting to God the honor and praise He alone deserves. It is our hope that, combined together, all the elements of our services do just that. We want to provide a meaningful and engaging experience for everyone who attends our services. In an effort to meet the needs of all ages, we have a fully staffed Nursery (ages 0-3) and Kids Club (ages 3-4) available for children during both our 9:00 am and 11:15 am services.
We value children and their presence in worship is important to us. If you choose to have your children accompany you in the Sanctuary, we have “quiet bags” available downstairs in the Children’s Ministry Check-In area. These bags are filled with all sorts of fun and creative goodies to keep younger ones occupied during the worship service.
Our service is available on CD and DVD in the Narthex. If you wish, you can view the service video on our website, www.frctc.org/online media to see what resources are currently available.
If you are visiting with us today, we have a gift bag for you at the Information Center!

HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED SMALL GROUPS?
We are beginning a campaign to strengthen the reach of small groups at FRC. Our goal is to begin 4 new small groups in September, allowing as many as 50 adults the opportunity to participate in the encouraging environment of community a small group can provide.
If you have ever considered a role in small groups or would consider hosting or leading a small group during the 2017-2018 school year, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about this goal.
Check “SMALL GROUP SURGE” on the connection card in today’s newsletter, contact my office directly at 231.947.7082 ext 206 or email me at [email protected]
FAITH@PRAYER - Come join us as we pray on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 1:00 pm for God’s will, God’s direction, and for the people and ministries of Faith. You can find us in the sanctuary where silent and spoken prayers are welcome by our Father.
COOKIES NEEDED FOR SUNDAY MORNING FELLOWSHIP
Help make our church family and guests feel welcome. A small, but personal, outreach is by offering homemade baked goods to accompany a cup of coffee as relationships are developed following the Sunday service. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office, 231.947.7082

Thank you for the prayers and expressions of care and support for Joan Burgess as she had a macular hole repaired this past week. She asks for prayers for her recovery and renewed vision.
Please pray for Mike who is not well and is going through a lot of medical tests to determine what is wrong with him. Pray for God’s loving arms around him and guidance for the doctors.
Pray for Hugh’s wife who was at U of M this past week related to a tumor on her optical nerve. As this sensitive matter is dealt with may the peace of Christ be with them.
Would you please be in prayer for Vacation Bible School as it begins tomorrow. Pray for the Spirit to rest on this place as the precious youngsters come, and may the love of God be clearly expressed to all who attend and serve.
Pray for the many homeless families in our community. Some are in temporary housing, some are living in vehicles, some are camping and some may even be on the streets. May they be safe, find hope and find housing.

For those who would benefit, a hearing loop has been installed in the sanctuary that should work with all personal hearing aids equipped with “T-Coil” technology. If your aids do not pick up the system or if you need assistance and don’t have hearing aids, an earphone device is available at the sound tech booth. Look for the hearing loop logo.

The Story Behind the Stage Design: “Summer Breeze”Symbolism: We recently celebrated the Day of Pentecost, on which the Holy Spirit “was poured out on all believers” (Acts 2). The Greek work “pneuma” means “wind” or “spirit.” In keeping with that concept, the fabric “sails” represent the wind (breeze) of summer and, more importantly, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the breath of Jesus Christ when he appeared to His disciples after his resurrection. It is also interesting to note that when God first created man, he did so by breathing life into the dirt.• John 20:22 “Then he [Jesus] breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” • John 3: 4-8 The Jewish ruler Nicodemus asked Jesus, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”• Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed a man’s body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life. And the man became a living person.Color: The fabric colors mirror some of the dominant colors present in the beautiful stained glass windows. The colors in each pane of glass deepen or brighten as the sun shines through in various intensities. Similarly, our lives reflect the many facets of Christ’s love (“the light of the world,” John 8:12) through our own circumstances and the unique way he has designed each of us. We are called to share this “light” with the world around us.
