Darkness evokes emotions within us that are mostly negative. Doubt, fear, anxiety, loneliness, worry, guilt. The only way to get rid of darkness is to expose it to light. As we move closer
to Easter, we will begin pursuing, Chasing the Light. To celebrate Easter, while living in the dark, destroys the
celebration. Because we believe that families grow together, we will be teaming up with our children's ministry through the
series. They will be learning the same ideas we are learning just through different lenses. Conversation on the way home
about light and dark, Jesus and life, change and hope, will hopefully grow because we will be on the same page. This
will all culminate on Easter. Here we will be in the new room, kids and adults, together, will learn how the brightest day
in history changes our lives forever. Come and Chase Light with us!

Respite Night Haley Hatfield Respite Night provided a fun evening for special needs kids and their siblings. Not only did the kids and volunteers have a great night, it was very rewarding to see their parents come back to find their children had enjoyed themselves so much. The Special Needs Ministry Team extends their appreciation to the volunteers who made the first-ever Respite Night such a success and looks forward to their next event.

Serving the Community
BUFFALO 2016 August 5th-14th
“Bringing Jesus to the city of Good Neighbors”
In August 2016 we will be taking an adult mission trip to Buffalo NY. While there we will work alongside Village Church, a 4 yr old church plant that we have supported since its inception. We will help them put on their first VBS each evening for the community kids. During the day we will work with Westside Ministries on cleaning and restoring run down houses in and around Buffalo. We will
leave Friday afternoon and be in Buffalo to worship with Village church on the 7th. The cost of the trip is $265 per person. This in-cludes all housing, transportation, and most meals on the trip. While in Buffalo we will spend some time enjoying the city, seeing Ni-
agara Falls and eating some of the best food that’s out there. If you would like more information on the trip contact Matt at [email protected]. This trip is open to anyone college age and up.
Jim Scott is serving as Campaign Chair and his wife, Sharon, is assisting as a resource for the events associated with the building expansion. Jim and Sharon moved here after falling in love with the people, and everything else, from their first visit to Macon. Jim retired from Proctor & Gamble and Sharon from inte-rior design and a commercial carpet company after 30+ year careers in St. Louis. Jim shared….The reason I’m excited about this building expansion is because it will be a great tool to reach others with the message of Salvation. I was raised in the church; I went to a Church run school from kindergarten through high school. I was taught the Bible and about Jesus Christ daily, but many in our community have never heard the message of Christ. This building will be a Great tool through its many outreach events like the Game Feed, Respite Night, Soup-er Bowl Party, The Agape Café, and many other events to bring people into our circle of influence and then we can show them about our Savior’s love and how He wants to give us everlasting life. I know this will be a great way for us to “Connect People to Jesus and Love our Community”. We knew from the beginning that we didn't want to just move to the area, we also wanted to be an active part of the community. Sharon and I are excited to be a part of Crossroads and the opportunity to be involved with the building expansion. Erica Baker is working as hostess to several special events in the new building including Pack the House, Soup-er Bowl Sunday and a luncheon for the JOY and Empty Nesters Ministries. Erica is excited about the new building and the great community outreach opportunity it offers. I am ex-cited for VBS to use the building as it is the biggest outreach event Crossroads has, involving more than 100 local children. VBS is one of the most important weeks every year at Crossroads. We know this may be the first and only time these children hear about Jesus.
“We have a mission field right in our own backyard. If we want to share the gospel, we have to be willing to go out in the community and meet folks where they are – to lead people to a productive relationship with Jesus Christ and his church. This building expansion will help us invite the community to our church as well.” Erica and her husband Aaron have 3 children: Bella (7), Brody (5) and Brynlee (2). They live in rural Atlanta where Erica owns and operates a preschool and Aaron works from home as well. The family is involved in many activities such as 4-H, PTO, Macon County Cattlemen, the local fire department and the Atlanta Homecoming. Aaron and Erica also provide respite care for foster families.
