Practice-oriented series of lectures on the application fields for light as a tool.
In 2017, these presentations saw some 1,500 attendees gathering information on
the latest industrial applications, challenges and solution approaches in photonics.

Biophotonics and medical applications
Optical metrology and imaging
Lasers and optics
Leading experts—decision-makers and executives from production, sales,
research and marketing—discuss economic and technological developments in
key laser markets as well as trends in industrial laser technology.
Live presentations of the latest photonics applications from renowned institutes
and exhibitors. Examples include additive manufacturing, microprocessing,
metrology, optical imaging and quality assurance.
Exhibitors present customer-specific manufacturing solutions to their visitors in
themed guided tours to expand their target audience.
This presentation platform is for international startups that have been active on the
market for less than five years. The “Photonics Award,” which honors outstanding
product innovations of new companies, is also presented here.
In this technology and photonics development competition for software and
hardware, competing teams develop initial prototypes in just 24 hours.
Most participants are students and young engineers, however, anyone is
welcome to participate.
Free coaching sessions, career and application advice along with support in
finding jobs, training positions and internships for college graduates as well as
experienced engineers and physicists.
