    WHEREAS, The Connecticut State University System Foundation has voted to confer its 2010 Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award on 12 graduating Connecticut State University System undergraduate students, and

    WHEREAS, The 12 recipients have been selected from approximately 5,000 graduating seniors, and

    WHEREAS, The criteria for selection for this award include service to family, university or community, as well as outstanding academic achievement, and

    WHEREAS, Joshua Fischer, a management information systems major at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), will graduate having achieved a 3.80 GPA, and

    WHEREAS, Andrew Lefebvre, a music education major from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), will graduate having achieved a 3.85 GPA, and

    WHEREAS, During his tenure at CCSU, his many accomplishments included receiving a CCSU Music Department Scholarship; the Villanova Jazz Festival Best Soloist Award in 2009 and 2007; serving as head drum major in the CCSU Marching Band; being the saxophone section leader in the CCSU Wind Ensemble, CCSU Jazz Band, and CCSU Chamber Players, and a saxophone player in the CCSU Jazz Combo; and working as marching band drill instructor for Rocky Hill High School Band; he is a jazz clinician with the Renbrook School; a student teacher at Old Saybrook Middle and High Schools; a saxophone chamber music coach at The Hartt School Community Division; and

    WHEREAS, During his tenure at Western, his many accomplishments included maintaining the Dean's List; membership in the WCSU Justice and Law Club and Business Network International; membership in the Housing and Urban Development chapter of Danbury; assisted the judge and court clerk in the New Fairfield/Sherman Probate Court; and

    WHEREAS, James Frague1a has been selected by the Connecticut State University System Foundation to receive its Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, therefore, be it

    April 8, 2010

    WHEREAS, The Connecticut State University System Foundation has voted to confer its 2010 Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award on 12 graduating Connecticut State University System undergraduate students, and

    WHEREAS, The 12 recipients have been selected from approximately 5,000 graduating seniors, and

    WHEREAS, The criteria for selection for this award include service to family, university or community, as well as outstanding academic achievement, and

    WHEREAS, David Strout, a professional writing major at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU), will graduate having achieved a 4.0 GPA, and

    WHEREAS, During his tenure at Western, his many accomplishments included receiving the Jason & Ellen Hancock Memorial Scholarship, the Alumni Association Scholarship, the WCSU President's Award, a Merit Scholarship; membership in National Society of Collegiate Scholars; holding the positions of president and co-editor-in-chief at the journal Black and White; participating in the World Languages Seminar; maintaining National Dean's List; being an Associate University Scholar in the WCSU Honors Program; serving as a program assistant in WCSU's German Studies Center; working as a writing tutor and in WCSU's Writing Lab and Tutoring Response Center; volunteering for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library; and represented Sentence: a Journal of Prose Poetics, Connecticut Review and Black & White at The Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference; and

    WHEREAS, David Strout has been selected by the Connecticut State University System Foundation to receive its Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, therefore, be it
