Your machine needs to be updated with the latest Royal Mail products, services and rates. You will need to follow these steps to download and install the updates to your machine. The new tariffs will become available to download from 16 th March 2015. The new tariffs will be active to apply the correct postage for mail dated from the 30 th March 2015. Before you start: Your system must be powered on. Your system must be connected to the network. This update will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete (depending on connection type / speed). Approximate timings for all steps are displayed on the screen. Buttons may be arranged differently than shown here depending on your system. Please DO NOT unplug your power cord, press the power button or disconnect the machine from the network during these steps. This may cause serious damage to your machine. 1. Connect+™ Series Models: MSF1 /MSF2 /MSF3 (1W20) New tariff download Instructions New Postal Tariff & Services – rate change 30th March 2015 Your Pitney Bowes Connect+ franking machine uses the Mailmark Postal Tariff and prints a frank as shown in the image here.

Your machine needs to be updated with the latest Royal Mail products, services and rates. You will need to follow these steps to download and install the updates to your machine. The new tariffs will become available to download from 16th March 2015. The new tariffs will be active to apply the correct postage for mail dated from the 30th March 2015.

Before you start: Your system must be powered on. Your system must be connected to the network. This update will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete (depending on

connection type / speed). Approximate timings for all steps are displayed on the screen.

1. From the Home screen, select Rates & Updates. NOTE: Check the symbol in the top right of the screen:

This indicates the updates may have downloaded already and therefore, when selecting rates and updates you may be at step 5 of this guide.

2. Your Connect+ machine will connect and

check for available updates.

3. A list of available New updates will then

be displayed. Select Download updates.

4. Your Connect + machine will start

downloading the available rates updates. Note: “Total approx. time remaining: XXmins” may fluctuate during the download. This is normal behavior.

5. Once the download is completed, and the updates are Ready to install, select Install updates.

6. At the Install updates now? screen,

select Install now.

7. The system will then verify and install the downloaded files and display the amount of time required to complete it.

8. Your Connect + will restart itself after the

updates have been installed.

9. During the restart, your Connect+ may

upload records to the Pitney Bowes Infrastructure.

10. Also, during the restart, you may see the following screen for up to 30 seconds. Please leave the machine to continue with the restart. Do not touch any of the icons.

11. After the restart, you may see a popup box on the screen asking “Would you like to set up the Updates Scheduler?” Select “Remind me later”

12. Once back at the Home screen, shut

down and restart your Connect Plus using the Shut down button. The new tariffs and services will be active and apply the new postage from the 30th March 2015. NOTE: During the period from when you install the new rates to the 30th March, we advise you not to advance the postal print date to the 30th March or beyond as this can affect your accounting reports.

Important Information, please read carefully On the Rate Change Effective date… Royal Mail have made changes to International Product Formats. Please ensure that you select the correct service for international mail using the table below for reference. International Product Formats As of this Rate Change, international mail services will be priced by weight and size in a similar way to inland 1st / 2nd Class mail. International mail will be categorized into Letters, Large Letters, Small Parcel and Printed Papers. Automatic WOW + DOW price calculation is now available* for international Royal Mail services. Use this feature to avoid applying the wrong pricing to Letters and Large Letters. The table below gives more information. International Product

International Printed Papers

Sizing as International Small Parcels. You can send books and pamphlets (meaning any papers ‘bound’ together), up to 5kg. Items between 2kg and 5kg in weight which contain books or pamphlets must be marked as ‘Printed Papers’ in the top left hand corner on the front of the parcel. Maximum Weight: 5kg Exceptions Exceptions to the information above are: Ireland – only books may be sent above 2kg. Canada – no items can be above 2kg. Cambodia - no items can be above 2kg.

As a result of changes to Royal Mail Services and for continued use of your machine, you should check / change your Jobs / Presets to ensure they reflect the latest Royal Mail updates. If you do not make the necessary changes, your Jobs / Presets may not function as expected and could apply an incorrect tariff to mail resulting in Royal Mail adding surcharges. We recommend that you replace any “International Letter” Jobs / Presets with “International Auto WOW + DOW” on WOW + DOW enabled machines.

How to overwrite a saved Job… If you need to change the contents (class, account, graphic etc) of a saved job, follow these instructions.

1. In the Run Mail screen, press the Open a job… tab.

2. Select the job that you wish to

update, and then press OK. For the default job, select Default job:job1

3. Establish the correct settings in the

Run Mail screen (Class, Account, Graphic etc). Then, press Save As….

4. Leave the Job name as it is and

press the OK button.

5. Press the Yes button when prompted to Replace current job?

6. The job is now saved.

How to delete a saved job… If a job is no longer valid or you require to change a job name, you will need to delete the job first before creating a new one. .

1. In the Run Mail, select the Open a job… tab.

2. Select the job that you wish to delete.

3. Press the Options button and then select Delete job from the options menu that appears.

4. Confirm the job you are deleting by

pressing the Yes, delete button. The job name selected appears in the question for you to check.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you wish to

delete any more jobs. 6. When you have finished deleting

jobs, press the OK button in the Jobs screen. This will close the Jobs screen and return you back to the Run Mail screen.

How to create a new job… The following instructions guide you how to create a new job.

1. In the Run Mail screen, establish the correct settings (Class, Account, Graphic etc). Then, press Save As…

2. Press the onscreen keyboard button when prompted to

Save as Job name:

3. Type in the desired job name using

the onscreen keyboard (you can use a wired or wireless keyboard here if attached to your Connect +). Press the OK button when done. NOTE: Maximum number of characters for job name is 16.

4. The job is now saved.
