CONGRATULATIONS DECEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH ROBOTICS RETURNS: There will be a demonstration and sign up day this Friday, January 6, from 3—4 PM in the Parish Hall. The topic for Grades 4 through 6 will be SmartWood Robot‐ ics and Grades K through 3 will study Medieval Times Robotics. See attached flyers for more information. OPEN HOUSE: STM will host our annual Open House on Sunday, January 29, from 10 AM until NOON. We are asking everyone to join us at the 9 AM Mass as we open our week long celebration of Catholic Schools Week. The students at STM are learning some amazing things and would love to share what they have learned with their parents, school families, and most importantly, with families interested in enrolling their children at Saint Thomas More School. NOON DISMISSAL ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 13 AND JANUARY 27: Teachers will use this time to organize the materials needed for the WASC/WCEA Visiting Team next month. Thank you for your understanding and support during our self study and accreditation. SAVE THE DATE: The Great Gatsby Dinner Dance will take place Saturday, February 4th. Every family is required to purchase two tickets which will be credited towards your manda‐ tory fundraising. Remember, additional tickets will be sold for $40. each. SmartWood Robotics - for those who look beyond the

basics

Join STEM&More in an adventure that will awaken students' intellectual curiosity, introduce them to the fascinating world of robotics, and equip them

with the tools to analyze and solve dilemmas. They will develop personal creativity and a unique thinking process in the areas of science and

technology.

The robotics kit enables each student to experience each robot's building and programming, and continue the learning experience at home for an

affordable price. All models will be controlled with smart phones

St. Thomas More MEDIEVAL TIMES ROBOTICS

When the past meets the future

Grades K-3rd This class is designed for ages 5 through 8. Objectives:

To provide children with the skills to create and build a variety of robot models with an emphasis on medieval times machinery.

To guide children through their first steps into the world of electronics, physics, robotics and gaming strategy.

To develop children's thinking process and strategy planning. Fun Fact- STEM&More students take home every model they produce to show, brag

and keep! Course description: Students investigate the fascinating and astonishing worlds of medieval machinery and robotics. With this one of a kind program, students will have the opportunity to revive old and classic machinery using new and cutting-edge technology.
