China is becoming a very important market and opportunity for the supply of products and chemicals for Italian companies either manufactured in Italy or in other countries. Therefore the operators have to know about the new chemical regulations in order to prepare accordingly either their entrance into the Chinese market or to verify the requirements’ compliance within their already existing activities in this country. The current key regulations to be considered by non-Chinese companies for new chemical substance notification, safety data sheet and label in China is the following: “ Measures for the Environmental Management of New Chemical Substances - MEP Order No. 7, Regulations on Control over Safety of Hazardous Chemical” (Decree No. 591)”. The Measure of MEP No.7 affects all supply chain actors including manufacturers and importers and downstream users. They need to submit new chemical substance notification dossiers to the CRC-MEP before these substances can be offered on the Chinese market and there are strict penalties imposed for non-compliance. The workshop will give information about the legal frame in chemical industry and focus on the new chemical substance notification explaining the necessary steps to do. The presence of the Chinese National Registration Center for Chemicals will allow all participants first hand information.
