Once configured, the user needs to select 'Start RTK Stream' through the 'GPS favorites' to activate the connection to Pleiades Reference Network. Step Sceeen Menu Instructions Visual Configuring Pleiades Connection using SmartWorx Viva v4.60 & CS internal modem Before you start • Insert the SIM card by removing the black topcap of the CS15, using the pen to unscrew the locks, you'll see the SIM card slot below the SD card slot (see right). Insert the SIM card with the metal chip facing the rear of the CS15, and with the chamfered end first. Press in until it clicks in place. • Turn on the CS15, and ensure that the instrument is in a GPS mode. If not, press Fn>F2, then select one of the GPS modes. • Connect the CS to the GPS antenna (via. Bluetooth or cable), and place the antenna in an place where it will pick up a some satellites. •From the main menu of SmartWorx, select 'Instrument' > 'GPS Settings' > 'RTK Rover wizard'. Use the following at the prompts. Screen 1. 'Create new profile'. Screen 2. Create a name for the profile (can be anything). Screen 3. Select 'Internet (e.g.. NTRIP)'. Screen 4. "Internal 3.5G modem" & make sure UMTS is checked. Screen 5. Leave PIN/PUK blank. Screen 6. "Using GPRS/CDMA internet connection". Screen 7. For Rogers SIM, type internet.com for the APN. For Telus SIM, type sp.telus.com for the APN. Screen 8. Leave everything unchecked (short wait after pressing next) Screen 9. 'Create server' Screen 10. Enter the following. Server name: Pleiades AddressL: 75.152.226.181 Port: (refer to login email provided by Pleiades). Check 'Use NTRTIP with this server'. NTRIP user ID: (refer to login email). NTRIP password: (refer to login email). Screen 11. Use 'select mountpoint from source table' Screen 12. Select 'PDC_SpiderNET' (Alberta), PDC_BC_Nearest (BC), or single base if required. Screen 13. Tick the box 'receive corrections from RTK network' Network type should be 'nearest'. check 'GGA message' and leave 'Send user ID' unchecked. Screen 14. RTK Data Format: 'RTCM v3' Leave everything as is. Should be automatically detect and no tick boxes checked. Screen 15. Select 'yes, test my connection'. Screen 16. Should show all tick boxes if the connection is OK. Leica GPS favorites is accessed through any screen by pressing the button on the CS15 keyboard. It allows for the following... • When the instrument is restarted, a connection to Pleiades needs to be re established. Press 'Start RTK stream' to begin receiving corrections. • Also within this menu is the 'RTK data link status' icon, which allows the user to check the status of the Internet/RTK connection. • You are able to change the mountpoint/basestation by selecting 'Server/Mountpoint', then pressing F5 'Source' then selecting the new base station. • To change to a radio (base & rover) connection, select 'load RTK profile' and select the radio profile from the list. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
