1.0 Purpose / Objective

This document assumes that the end user is an eHealth Ontario ONE Mail Direct client, and using MS Outlook as their mail client. This document describes how to configure MS Outlook for RPC/HTTPs access to the ONE Mail Direct Service.

2.0 Audience

This document is intended for the IT administrator/technical personnel at each organization that are responsible for the configuration of the organization’s mail client.

3.0 Prerequisites

To use RPC/HTTPS to access eHealth Ontario’s ONE Mail Direct service, the following set of parameters must be met:

The following software must be installed on the user’s PC: Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later

Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2003, 2007, or 2010

You will require:

The Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) of eHealth Ontario’s mailbox server

The Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) of eHealth Ontario’s Exchange proxy server

Each user must have the self-complete letter that was sent to them containing:

• User Log-on Name

• Password

• E-mail address

4.0 Configuring MS Outlook to connect via RPC over HTTPs

4.1 MS Outlook 2000/2003

The following set of configuration steps will allow you to manually configure MS Outlook 2000/2003 to access the ONE Mail Direct service via RPC over HTTPs.

Configuration Steps:

1. Click the Start button, and select Control Panel.

2. Click the Mail icon from the Control Panel window.

3. In the Mail Setup window, under Profiles click Show Profiles…

4. In the Mail window click Add.

5. Enter a profile name for the new mail profile (e.g. ONE Mail Direct), and click OK. This name will help users distinguish between other mail profiles when signing into Outlook.

6. Select the Add a new e-mail account radio button, and click Next.

7. Select the Microsoft Exchange Server radio button, and click Next.

8. On the next window complete the following steps:

Enter the Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) of the eHealth Ontario mailbox server in the Microsoft Exchange Server field.

*Note: The value for the FQDN is

<<ONTONMP2AMCA00.subscribers.ssh>>

Ensure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.

Enter the assigned email address into the User Name field.

*Note: The assigned email address is contained in the self-complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

Click More Settings…

9. If you receive an error message indicating that “the action could not be completed…,” click OK.

*Note: If you do not receive this warning continue on to the next step.

10. Click Cancel to go past this screen.

11. In the Microsoft Exchange Server window, select the Connection tab and complete the following steps:

Select Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) radio button.

Ensure the checkbox for Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP is checked. Click

Exchange Proxy Settings…

12. In the Exchange Proxy Settings window complete the following steps:

Enter the Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) for the eHealth Ontario Exchange RPC Proxy Server in the https:// field.

*Note: the value for FQDN Exchange RPC Proxy Server is <<outlook.one-mail.on.ca>>.

Under the Proxy authentication settings, select Basic Authentication from the drop down menu.

Click OK.

13. In the Microsoft Exchange Server window click OK.

14. In the E-mail Accounts window complete the following steps:

Confirm that the FQDN of the eHealth Ontario mailbox server has been populated in the Microsoft Exchange Server field and is underlined.

*Note: The value should now appear as <<ONTONMP2AMCA00.subscribers.ssh>>

Confirm that the email address entered in the User Name field is underlined.

*Note: The value should now appear as <<[email protected]>>. If both values are underlined click Next and go to step 18.

*Note: If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined go to next step.

15. If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined complete the following steps:

Click the Check Name button.

If the following screen appears

o In the User name field enter the User Log-on Name contained in the self- complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

o In the Password field enter the Temporary Password contained in the self-

complete letter that was sent to each registrant

o Click OK.

If both values are underlined click Next and go to step 18.

*Note: If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined on the E- mail accounts window go to next step.

16. If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name field are not underlined or you receive an error message complete the following steps:

Enter the “last name, first name” of the account owner into the User Name field

Click the Check Name button.

If you receive the following error message click OK.

*Note: If you do not receive this error message continue with the next step. If

the following screen appears:

o In the User name field enter the User Log-on Name contained in the self- complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

o In the Password field enter the Temporary Password contained in the self-

complete letter that was sent to each registrant

o Click OK

*Note: If this screen does not appear continue with the next step.

If both values are underlined click Next and go to step 18.

*Note: If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined on the E- mail accounts window go to next step.

17. If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are still not underlined complete the following steps:

I. Go to https://mail.one-mail.on.ca and log into ONE Mail Direct using MS Outlook Web

Access.

II. Click on the address book icon.

III. In the Find Names – Webpage Dialog box enter the last name and first name of the individual who you are looking for, and click Find.

IV. Select the correct individual from the list below and click Properties…

V. Highlight and copy the Display Name that is shown, and return to the E-mail accounts window for MS Outlook.

VI. Return to the E-mail accounts screen and complete the following steps:

Paste the copied Display Name in the User Name field

Click the Check Name button

If you receive the following error message click OK.

*Note: If you do not receive this error message continue with the next step. If

the following screen appears

o In the User name field enter the User Log-on Name contained in the self- complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

o In the Password field enter the Temporary Password contained in the self-

complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

o Click OK

*Note: If this screen does not appear continue with the next step.

If both values are underlined click Next and go to step 18.

*Note: If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined on the E- mail accounts window go to next step

18. On the E-mail Accounts window complete the following steps:

Confirm that the Microsoft Exchange Server name is now underlined.

Confirm that the User Name is now underlined.

*Note: If this step does not work or you receive an error message, try entering your “last name, first name” into the User Name field and click Next.

If both values are underlined click Next.

19. Click Finish

20. You should now see the new profile listed in the General tab. Use the radio buttons to determine how different profiles are selected when MS Outlook is started up.

*Note: it is recommended that if the user has only one profile for the MS Outlook client that the radio button always use this profile be selected.

Click OK.

4.2 MS Outlook 2007/2010

The following set of configuration steps will allow you to manually configure MS Outlook 2007/2010 to access the ONE Mail Direct service via RPC over HTTPs.

*Note: The screen shots provided in this section are specific to MS Outlook 2007. If you are using this document

to configure MS Outlook 2010, you may notice that some screens during the configuration process may vary slightly from the screen shots provided in this section. However, this set of instructions can also be used to configure MS Outlook 2010, as there are no changes in the configuration steps.

Configuration Steps:

1. Click the Start button, and select Control Panel.

2. Click the Mail icon from the Control Panel window.

3. In the Mail Setup window, under Profiles click Show Profiles…

4. In the Mail window click Add.

5. Enter a profile name for the new mail profile (e.g. ONE Mail Direct), and click OK. This name will help

users distinguish between other mail profiles when signing into Outlook.

6. On the Add New E-mail Account window select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box, and click Next.

7. Select the Microsoft Exchange radio button, and click Next.

8. On the next window complete the following steps:

Enter the Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) of the eHealth Ontario mailbox server in the Microsoft Exchange Server field.

*Note: The value for the FQDN is

<<ONTONMP2AMCA00.subscribers.ssh>>

Ensure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.

Enter the assigned email address into the User Name field.

*Note: The assigned email address is contained in the self-complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

Click More Settings…

9. If you receive an error message indicating that “The action could not be completed…,” click OK.

10. Click Cancel to go past this screen.

11. In the Microsoft Exchange Server window, select the Connection tab and complete the following steps:

Select Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) radio button.

12. In the Exchange Proxy Settings window complete the following steps:

Enter the Fully Qualified Distinguished Name (FQDN) for the eHealth Ontario Exchange RPC Proxy Server in the https:// field.

*Note: the value for FQDN Exchange RPC Proxy Server is <<outlook.one-mail.on.ca>>.

Under the Proxy authentication settings, select Basic Authentication from the drop down menu.

Click OK.

13. In the Microsoft Exchange Server window click OK.

14. In the E-mail Accounts window complete the following steps:

Confirm that the FQDN of the eHealth Ontario mailbox server has been populated in the Microsoft Exchange Server field and is underlined.

*Note: The value should now appear as <<ONTONMP2AMCA00.subscribers.ssh>>

Confirm that the email address entered in the User Name field is underlined.

*Note: The value should now appear as <<[email protected]>>.

If both values are underlined click Next and go to step 18.

*Note: If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined go to next step.

15. If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are not underlined complete the following steps:

Click the Check Name button.

If the following screen appears

o In the User name field enter the User Log-on Name contained in the self- complete letter that was sent to each registrant.

o In the Password field enter the Temporary Password contained in the self-

complete letter that was sent to each registrant

o Click OK.

17. If the Microsoft Exchange server and User Name fields are still not underlined complete the following

steps:

I. Go to https://mail.one-mail.on.ca and log into ONE Mail Direct using MS Outlook Web Access.

II. Click on the address book icon.

III. In the Find Names – Webpage Dialog box enter the last name and first name of the individual who you are looking for, and click Find.

IV. Select the correct individual from the list below and click Properties…

VI. Return to the E-mail accounts screen and complete the following steps:

If you receive the following error message click OK.

18. On the E-mail Accounts window complete the following steps:

Confirm that the Microsoft Exchange Server name is now underlined.

Confirm that the User Name is now underlined.

*Note: If this step does not work or you receive an error message, try entering your “last name, first name” into the User Name field and click Next.

If both values are underlined click Next.

19. Click Finish

20. You should now see the new profile listed in the General tab. Use the radio buttons to determine how different profiles are selected when MS Outlook is started up.
