Introduction Dear Friends—

With the publication of this present catalog, we thought that we would bring you up to date regarding our opera-tion and our offerings and re-acquaint you briefly with the publishing arm of our beloved Concordia Lutheran Conference, known since 1975 as Scriptural Publications.

Since our publishing house was organizationally restructured in 1990, we have endeavored to modernize and streamline our operation, upgrade our facilities both technically and functionally, and expand our offerings to in-clude sound books and materials produced by other publishers. In the latter effort, it was and is our chief con-cern to offer only such items as have been examined by our Conference pastors and found to be doctrinally sound, so that, even though we ourselves did not publish them, they represent as far as possible the confessional position of the Concordia Lutheran Conference. Needless to say, our people should always be confidant that their publishing house will never offer dangerous or even questionable materials for their spiritual consumption. Nevertheless, materials not published by our Conference should always be read with discretion, compared with and tested against the perfect norm of Scripture, and discussed if possible with one’s local pastor, who must ulti-mately give account of his own sheep.

Among our current offerings, we have included materials that may be specially helpful to parents and Sunday School teachers, tracts focusing on specific matters of doctrine and practice, doctrinal essays delivered over more than sixty years at Conference conventions, and documents of historical significance, “that the generation to come might know” (Psalm 78:6a) of the sacrifices made by our spiritual fathers over these many years.

Regarding Scriptural Publications, we gratefully recognize the ongoing financial support of the Concordia Lutheran Conference through its annual subsidy of our work in accordance to its stated object (Constitution, Art. III, 6), namely: “The publication and distribution of orthodox religious books, periodicals and other literature for the promotion of the true faith.” But we also want to express our sincere appreciation to those individuals and con-gregations who, in addition to their regular offerings on behalf of the Conference work at large, have also given generously to Scriptural Publications directly, and have thus contributed significantly to our ability, through capital outlay, to procure needed equipment and to fund special publishing projects that otherwise would have had to wait. Without this support, we would not be able to lay the foundation for the future production of books and tracts. As a non-profit organization, we are limited as to the ways we conduct our affairs; and as such, we are dependent upon the generous support of the brethren. We thank you all for the support of the Lord’s kingdom in the publishing of the written Word.

This coming year, Scriptural Publications will continue to offer sound orthodox materials of by-gone days, which are hard to find among the spiritual trash now commonly published by many religious publishers. Some materials will be reprints as they originally appeared; others will be recast in new editions. We invite and encourage your comments and suggestions, both as to this catalog and to our work in general. Thanks!

in the Missouri Synod, 1950"

III. “The Founding of the

Orthodox Lutheran Conference, 1951 Price: $19.95 Item # B0200-SP Type: Book The historical essays which comprise this well-documented testimony were prepared and presented to three consecutive delegate conventions of the Concordia Lutheran Conference in celebration of its Fiftieth Anniversary as a church body. With all glory to God for His abiding grace and continual help as its Refuge and Strength, our Conference dates its existence from the formation of its parent-body, the Orthodox Lutheran Conference at Okabena, Minnesota, in September, 1951. The reader is encouraged to look up and study the primary documentation included in the Appendix of this book for the irrefutable, conclusive evidence and clear and certain proof that what we have seen ( “marked” Romans.16:17) and what we herewith set forth concerning the heterodoxy of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help us God (Psalm 46)! The Concordia Lutheran

The official organ of the Concordia Lutheran Conference appears regularly in a bi-monthly issue. It features theologi-cal, devotional and informational articles of interest and importance to pastors and laymen alike. It exposes par-ticularly the false teaching and practice of the various so-called “Lutheran” church bodies by comparing their teachings and practices with what is plainly taught in the Word of God, in the Lutheran Confessions, and in the old orthodox Lutheran writings. It also demonstrates that the Concordia Lutheran Conference is not a sect or false church body, but that the congregations which comprise it confess, teach and practice the Word of God in its full truth and purity. A must for every concerned Lutheran.
