VISION JAN-MAR 2014

The Social Responsibility Committee of Jaipuria Institute of

Management, Lucknow celebrated the International

Women’s Day in a unique manner. The students conducted a

“Nukkad Natak- DASTAK” where they sensitized thousands

of people about the various social issues related to women.

The event was organized on March 8, 2014 at 5 p.m. outside

the multilevel parking, Hazratgunj, Lucknow.

International Women’s Day is celebrated throughout the

world on March 8. This day is celebrated to show a gesture of

affection, respect towards women and appreciate their

social, economic and political achievements. There is a

dichotomy; on one side India has launched several schemes

and programs to facilitate women empowerment and on the

other we hold testimony to the increasing number of cases of

crime against women such as female foeticides, domestic

violence, dowry deaths, eve-teasing and sexual harassment.

The number of reported cases has increased drastically in

the recent past. Indian youth has protested against this in all

possible ways and at various platforms.

On this occasion, students from Jaipuria Institute of

Management created awareness and motivated everyone to

raise their voice against such social issues as eve-teasing,

sexual harassment, molestation, child abuse and rape. The

Lucknowites in general and the spectators in special, praised

the initiative taken and the message spread “women- the

creator of human beings, the most precious creation of GOD

should be treasured ,appreciated, respected and cared for ”

by the budding managers of the Institute.

‘NAARI’

VISION JAN-MAR 2014

“International Women’s Day or World Conference on Women is

always a day for stock-taking and introspection, a landmark in the

fight for equality. Yet, international days come and go and so do

conferences. While the women celebrate the coming out of

purdahs of various sorts and being unshackled in various ways,

violence or any callous threat is still a common thread that knits

all specimens of female variety together across the world.

As a small step against these atrocities, to magnify women

empowerment and to throttle up the soul of society, Jaipuria

Institute of Management, Lucknow did a street play on March 8,

2014 i.e. International Women’s Day at Hazratganj, Lucknow. The

theme of this play was ‘NAARI’.

Under the creative direction of Atindra Kumar Shukla, the team

cleverly portrayed the heinous and disgraceful act against 49% of

vote bank (in India) and left all jabbed with a sense of shame for

just standing and watching this inhuman recklessness in the

society. The audiences present were thrilled to core and were

sensitized; when confronted by their true self; by the acting and

emotions of students.

Mr. Ajay Wadhwa, Head Coordinator of Social Responsibility Club,

also contributed a lot in converting this effort into a success.

We may believe in any path for humanity to be free of hunger,

and hedonism, but no path can be traversed without woman
