CSL’s Invizilite Generation 2 is the most flexible and versatile concealed
lighting system to date. Invizilite Generation 2 has been developed to
answer all of the most challenging concealed lighting issues. Tight radii,
sharp turns, confined coves and restrictive spaces are not a problem for
Invizilite Generation 2. CSL’s patent pending system features a flexible
two-conductor cable that allows maximum freedom for quick and easy
installation and provides high load capacity for more light and fewer
power feeds.
Invizilite Generation 2 is designed to be installed without the use of a
rigid track, making free-form designs a breeze. The Invizilite Generation
2 socket will accommodate incandescent and xenon festoon lamps, our
High-Power one watt LED modules or an MR lampholder. In addition, the
sockets may be removed and/or relocated to place the light right where
it’s needed.
A complete selection of accessories is available for Invizilite
Generation 2, including mounting tracks, reflectors,
lenses and connectors.

- Magnetic: Maximum wattage 600W @ 24V on a single load,

advanced dimming systems. Bulky and heavy but has high

CONCEALED LINEAR SYSTEM IN 5 EASY STEPS
1. Measure length of desired run
2. Depending on application, determine socket spacing between
socket centers, i.e.: inch on center “O.C.” spacing
• forcove lighting:use thegeneral rule that thedistance in
inches from the wall is equal to the socket spacing: 4" cove/
soffit = 4" O.C. socket spacing.
• for task lighting:whenmore light is desired on thework
surface,useclosersocketspacing(O.C.socketspacing).

Invizilite Generation 2 is available in pre-assembled
kits. Kits may be ordered with black or white cable,
socket spacing of 3 inches, 4 inches or 6 inches and
in spools of 20 feet, 60 feet, 100 feet and 200 feet.
Kits are furnished with sockets pre-attached to the
cable(mountingearsareattachedtothesockets in
an alternating pattern). Mounting screws, power feeds
and dead ends are also included in the kits. Lamps,
transformers and accessories are ordered separately.

The information in this section will help you determine the design and
layout of the Invizilite Generation 2 Low-Voltage Lighting System.
Operating Temperatures
As with every lighting system, the Invizilite Generation 2 will generate
heat during operation. Sufficient ventilation is required to dissipate the
heat generated during operation. The Invizilite Generation 2 system
is not intended to be installed in area where air flow is restricted. The
surface the Invizilite Generation 2 is mounted to must not exceed
90°C(194°F).
Low Voltage Transformers
A low voltage transformer is required to power the Invizilite
Generation 2 system. There are two types of low voltage transformers:
electronic and magnetic. To guarantee safety and maintain warranty
alwaysuseaULlistedorULrecognizedtransformer.
Electronic Transformers
Electronic transformers have smaller profiles than magnetic
transformers.Theyareavailableinsizeswithsingleoutputsof60–300
watts. Each transformer has waterproof potting in a cast aluminum
housing. The electronic transformers have short circuit and auto-reset
thermal cut-off protection at 125°C. Electronic transformers may
causeRFI(RadioFrequencyInterference).IfRFIispresent,reposition
thetransformerbyrotating it(plugit intheoppositeway)changing
thedirectionofthemagneticfield.RFIcanbeeliminatedbyusinga
magnetictransformerwhichdoesnotcauseRFI.
Magnetic Transformers
Magnetic transformers are typically larger and weigh more than an
electronic transformer. They are available in 300watt or 600watt,
Toroidal or E.I. lamination. The 12volt transformers have four multi-
taps 12, 13, 14, 15 or 24, 26, 28, 30 for the 24voltmodels. These
magnetic transformers have an auto reset in-line primary overload
protection and an in-line secondary magnetic breaker to protect
against short circuit. All of our magnetic transformers may be loaded
up to 100% when mounted horizontally.
Dimming Transformers
Invizilite Generation 2 may be dimmed. When dimming this system,
it is recommended that the dimmer be installed on the line voltage
(primary)sideofthetransformer.Whenusingamagnetictransformer
it is recommended to use a low voltage dimmer suitable for use with
a magnetic transformer. When using an electronic transformer it is
recommended that you use a low voltage electronic dimmer.
Switching
Forinstallationsthatrequireswitchingonthelowvoltage(secondary)
side, it is important that the switch being used is rated for the amperage
that the Invizilite Generation 2 system is drawing through it. You can
calculateamperageusingthefollowingequation:Amps(amperage)=
Total Watts ÷ Voltage. If there is confusion about which switch to use,
use a switch with a minimum rating of 25amps and this will cover the
maximum rating of the Invizilite Generation 2 system.
Transformer Placement
Transformers should be placed as close as possible to the start of the
Invizilite Generation 2 run to help compensate the voltage drop that
may occur. Electronic transformers are more susceptible to voltage
drop and it is recommended that electronic transformers are not used
for long runs or used in a remote mounting application.
Remote Mounting Transformers
When remote mounting a magnetic transformer, it is important to
select the correct wire gauge for use between the transformer and
thebeginningoftheInviziliteGeneration2runs.Usethechartbelow
to establish the correct wire gauge.
Voltage Drop
When the first lamp in the run is brighter than the last lamp in the
run, this difference is known as voltage drop. Voltage drop can be
minimized by selecting the correct wire gauge between the remote
transformer and the start of the run. Refer to the chart below.
Reducing Voltage Drop
1.Useamulti-taptransformer.
2. Usethecorrectgaugewirefromtransformertothestartoftherun.
3. Place the power feed in the center of the run.
