• The CDS-100 performs two key functions.

– 1) provides a communication path to insure that both units maintain ‘configuration synchronization’;

simplifies network management by allowing configuration changes to be made to the current online

unit and having these changes automatically propagated to the offline unit

– 2) uses the AH signal from the ACU to drive the online/offline command signal to the modem
