Problem

Can’t find the VGA FeatureConnector.

The VGA Feature Connector is a26-pin connector which providesdigital VGA signals to theComputertop TV card. Thisconnector is located on the VGAcard (or on the motherboard ifthe VGA chip is located on themotherboard). This is usually a“card-edge connector,” but someVGA cards have a “headerconnector.” Some VGA cardsand PCs may not have a VGAFeature Connector, even thoughstandards for VGA cards requireit.

Solution

If your VGA card does not have a VGA Feature Connector, thenthe Computertop TV Card willdisplay video or TV only on thefull screen, but not in awindow. You may want to replaceyour VGA card with anotherVGA card that has a VGAFeature Connector.

Problem

Windows runs properly, but theComputertop TV window doesnot come up when you type WIN WINPCTV from the DOSprompt, or the Computertop TVwindow does not come up whenyou double-click on theComputertop TV icon inWindows.

Solution

a.Repeat the Computertop TVWindows Software Installation. If this does not help, you mayhave an I/O address conflict, and need to change I/O jumpersettings.

b.Make sure that the VGA FeatureConnector is enabled (refer toyour VGA card’sdocumentation) and your VGA is in 640 x 480 mode.

Problem

The Computertop TV windowappears when you run theprogram, but it shows only ablank screen or static in thewindow.

Solution

a.Switch to full screen mode byhitting the ESC key. If you nowsee live video, your computer isnot set to Standard VGA mode(640 x 480) or there is a FeatureConnector problem. Return toWindows Setup and select 640 x480 VGA resolution, if necessary.

b.If you do not see live video infull-screen mode either, see theSolution to the next Problem.
