Young producer, composer and performing artist Javier Limón is already a
legend of Latin American culture. Javier Limón (Madrid, 1973) graduated from
the Madrid Royal Conservatory, where he studied piano and guitar. He is an
active composer and producer who began composing for flamenco artists but
has since expanded his reach to Latin jazz musicians and Cuban artists.
His many composition and production credits include major albums by
renowned artists such as Paco de Lucía, Bebo Valdes, El Cigala, Enrique
Morente, Wynton Marsalis, the acclaimed Spanish singer Concha Buika or
fado singer Mariza among many others.
Recording from Bogota to Paris and New York to
Palestine, the artist incorporates a decidedly
international vibe in his take on the traditions of
Flamenco.
Raised in Spain, Limon traveled to New York City
at an early age to train in the arts schools of the
US. It was there that he was discovered for his
potent and powerful lyricism and composition.
Grammy Award winner and
winner of ten Latin Grammys
among many others, Limón is
already lead world music
reference.
“Traveller’ by Anoushka Shankar, was nominated to
the Grammy for the Best World Music
Album 2013.
Employed by powerhouses of the flamenco world,
such as Enrique Morente and Carmen Linares, to
work his magic, Limon’s ability to weave fairytales
with his unique twists on the genre garnered him a
Latin GRAMMY in 2004 for Producer of the Year.
Limon has gone on to win a total of ten Latin
GRAMMY’s, one GRAMMY and many more
nominations.
Javier Limón has combined several professional
occupations in the world of art and
communication. Although his core activity has
been focused on composition, production and art
direction on all types of projects, from albums to
film scores and tv shows among others, his work
as a communicator and teacher is likewise
remarkable.
Currently he blends his artistic commitments with
solidarity projects and with his work as a teacher
and artistic director of the Berklee Mediterranean
Institute and Berklee Latino at the prestigious
Berklee College of Music, as well as directing his
own music production company, CasaLimón.

DOCUMENTARY
LA GUITARRA VUELA Documentary Directed by Javier Limón & Jorge Martinéz 2016
9 countries, 2 continents, 21,383 miles. ‘La guitarra vuela. Soñando a Paco de Lucía’ is the story of a trip between Spain and Latin America, a tour with a unique musical instrument in the starring role, the peak in the life and work of a key artist in the history of music.
The final guitar of Paco de Lucía, ‘La Maestro’, has been off on holiday courtesy of Iberia to play a tribute tour. One guitar, major artists, brand new concerts, a documentary, a scholarship for two guitarists to keep training at the world’s most important and prestigious music college, Berklee College of Music, an album and a plane; these are the main ingredients of this wonderful project that pays homage to the musician, the instrument and the universality of an art that both embodied.
This is the story of a trip between Spain and Latin America with a unique protagonist: the last guitar designed by the genius from Algeciras, which he never had the chance to unveil to the world. From Mallorca, Jerez de la Frontera and Lisbon to the United States and Latin America, this musical instrument has been travelling, keeping alive the magic of its master, Paco de Lucía. ‘The Guitar Flies’ is the tribute that the music producer Javier Limón, the creative producer Jorge Martínez and Iberia make to a universal genius. La Maestro flew from hand to hand; from those of Carlinhos Brown to those of Alejandro Sanz, stopping off at Tomatito’s or those of Muñequitos de Matanzas, delivering anecdotes, nostalgia and a lot of art along the way.

UN LUGAR LLAMADO MUNDO TV & RADIO Music Program 2014
“Un Lugar llamado Mundo" ( A place called world) is a unique Spanish program that revolves around music and musicians, with exclusive and unrepeatable performances where musicians of different styles and nationalities share the stage. “Un Lugar llamado Mundo" allows the audience to see a total of 13 programs including live performances by Michel Camilo, La Shica, Los Coronas, DePedro, Benjamín Biolay, Soleá Morente with Los Evangelistas and Carl Barât, among other artists.
Directed by David Trueba, produced by Toni Garrido and presented by producer and composer Javier Limón (winner of 10 Latin Grammy Awards), the program gathers the different moments of meetings between the artists invited to each program: from the rehearsals in Javier's studio’s in the morning, to the trip in a van and the recording of the live show.
The diverse origins and nationalities of the artists, their differences of styles and instruments, result in encounters full of surprising anecdotes and unique experiences.

Entre2aguas is a music documentary directed by Javier Limón, one of the most renowned music producers in Spain, in search of musical connections between two worlds: the Mediterranean cultures and the American cultures.
Almost forty years ago the course of flamenco music changed by chance. In Peru, Paco de Lucía discovered the cajon drum and incorporated it to his music and now the cajon drum is considered by many a flamenco instrument. This event was the starting point for this documentary, which reflects the ongoing encounter between two cultures: the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Also exploring the current 'world music' in some of these countries from different points of view.
The human stories, landscapes, gastronomy or any other source of inspiration is valid to get to know the music, and the people of a country. Participating artists in these documentary series are Avishai Cohen, Antonio Carmona, Oscar de Leon, Guinga, Alejandro Sanz, Tito Paris or Carminho among many others.
