Prayer in times of pestilence
Stella coeli exstirpavit,
Quae lactavit Dominum:
Nihil negans te honorat.
Virgo Mater te orat!
away the plague of death which the first parents of
man brought into the world. May this bright Star
now vouchsafe to extinguish that foul constellation
whose battles have slain the people with the wound
of death.
O most pious Star of the Sea, preserve us from
pestilence; hear us, O Lady, for Thy Son honors Thee
by denying Thee nothing. Save us, O Jesus, for whom
Thy Virgin Mother supplicates Thee.
Jams for Sale – Nine varieties of jams made by Peggy
and Margaret will be available at the parish hall after
both Masses this Sunday. Each jar is only $3.50, and
all proceeds go to the St. Birgitta Church Altar Society.
Second Sunday Coffee and Donuts – Come join us in
the hall after the 8am Mass.
Second Sunday Potluck - Come join us for the Second

Trail Life Sunday – This Sunday, September 12th, we
will be celebrating “Trail Life Sunday.” We will have
visitors from another troop who will be coming to our
potluck to show a video and give a presentation about
Trail Life. This will be a great opportunity to learn
more as we are about to form our very own troop. It
looks like some of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of
Our Lady of Sorrows will be attending our potluck as
well.
Latin Masses – We will be having a Latin Mass this
Tuesday, September 14th at 7:00pm for the Feast of
the Exultation of the Cross AND Wednesday,
September 15th at 7:00pm for the Feast of the Seven
Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Both of these
Masses will be sung Masses.
Gregorian Chant – Are you interesting in learning
Gregorian Chant? Beginner classes will be offered
here at the church under the direction of our schola
director Dr. Lynne Bissonnette-Pitre. Please contact
Fr. Clifton if you are interested.
Catechism – If there are any adults who are in need of
baptism, First Holy Communion or Confirmation,
please contact Fr. Clifton or sign up on the sheet in the
vestibule. We will be beginning catechism classes for
adults in September.
Catechism – If you have children who will be at least
seven by next May and who are in need of First Holy
Communion, please contact Fr. Clifton or sign up on
the sheet in the vestibule. We will be beginning
catechism classes for children in September. If there
are young people in your family who are in need of
the Sacrament of Confirmation and will be in at least
their freshman year of high school (or its equivalent),
please contact Fr. Clifton to get them signed up as
well.
