ROTARY UPSThe RBT builds upon the Rotabloc Energy Storage Unit to provide a simple UPS system that can be configured to provide the desired level of redundancy and resiliency for your facility. Efficient and sustainable, RBT can be used in low and medium voltage and, in either design, RBT delivers highly competitive CapEx and exceptionally low OpEx leading to an unmatched Total Cost of Ownership.
The system consists of a standard synchronous generator with no special windings and a simple steel flywheel. The low speed shaft extends bearing life and reduces maintenance. The ROTABLOC machine is very robust as critical functions do not use fragile components such as power electronics, power capacitors, electro-chemical batteries, active magnetic bearings, electro-mechanical or mechanical friction clutches.

DIESEL GENERATORSUniversal Power offers a wide and diverse range of generator component possibilities which conveniently allows the client to select their preferred products. Since we cater for the entire African market many challenging demands come to the fore. Since we assemble and test our own proud UPower® units inhouse we are able to offer customized solutions that complements the client's requirements.
Whether it be Japanese engineered Mitsubishi or German designed MTU units, we offer quality equipment from across the planet with warrantees in excess of 12 months.
Not only do we have a diverse product variety but also a comprehensive capacity line ranging from 9kVA to as much as 3000kVA in single units. From the smaller plug-and-play sets to the very large intricate sets, the choices are endless.
Our team of experts can deliver complex parallel designs, peak lopping / peak shaving, no-break operation during planned load shedding, underground plants with remote cooling, medium voltage applications and much much more.
In addition, auxiliary equipment such as underground fuel tanks, fuel transfer systems, specialized sound attenuation, rigging, service & support are offered, to name but a few.

BUSBARSUniversal Power Africa offers two distinct busbar solutions; (1) High Power Busbar - HPB & (2) Intelligent Medium Power Busbar - iMPB.
High power busbar (HPB) falls into two categories, namely; (1.1) Cast Resin Type & (1.2) Standard Type.They are available in Medium Voltage, Low Voltage as well as DC Voltage applications.
Typically, Cast Resin is used in highly volatile explosive areas or outdoor applications that can include fully submersed environments.
The Standard Type busbar is generally used for indoor applications such as; (1) Distribution e.g. riser busbar with tap with offs, (2) Feeders e.g. between transformer and MDB, or (3) Specialized feeders (IP67).

SOLARStandard photovoltaic solutions are primarily offered in two distinct methods, namely; Grid-Tie & Off Grid. By employing these two methods, there are severalbranch offs that gets explored such a hybrid plants.
PV solar can be interconnected with alternative energy sources such as Diesel Generators, Rotary UPS's and Static UPS'sto achieve a secure and protected power supply to the client's load in the most cost effective manner. These can apply to both poor and unreliable supplies as well as facilities with no Power Utility available.
PV systems can range from as low as a few VA for small households to plants in excess of hundreds, even thousands, of kWe.
There are many ways to interpret, design and execute solar solutions, so it is important to understand and distinguish between sales talk and actual performance.
REMOTE DATA & TELECOM ENVIRONMENTSUniversal Power Africa offers Data Centre & Telecoms environments, commonly referred to Modular Data Centres, Remote Data Centres, Containerized Data Centres, and the like.
In essence, they all require similar operating environments. A facility that is physically secure, protected against fires, accurately monitored and power logged, reliably cooled and supported by power sources.
The requirements above may vary depending on intended expenditure as well as uptime requirements.
The essential parts in creating the environment is (1) Access Control, (2) Fire detection & suppression, (3) Environmental monitoring including energy monitoring and control, (4) Secure and reliable power sources that include but are not limited to generators and UPS's, (5) Secure and reliable environmental cooling (6) Closed circuit television – CCTV, (7) Secure power and data distribution and more, all the while keeping efficiency, commonly referred to as PUE, a high priority.
Remote environments are modular, scalable and mobile. It is possible to locate and relocate them where required. All this after performing inhouse factory tests to warrant operation prior to dispatch.
Once the containment is positioned, the client simply populates the cabinets with the necessary computing equipment.
