HISTORY AND BACKGROUND SKARM CONSTRUCTION &ENGINEERING SERVICE LIMITED is a legally registered company, in Ghana, based in Tema and Takoradi. Established in March 1999, Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited has worked progressively over the years to provide unique Crane and Forklift services, supporting activities within Ghana’s Mining, construction, haulage transport and associated sectors. The Directors of the company have extensive and in-depth experience in the services the company provides and are poised to bring all that experience to bear on whatever Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited undertakes to do. The scope of the company’s services includes but is not limited to the following:

Lifting of heavy duty equipment in Mining, Construction, Marine and Industrial Companies;

Construction of pipe lines; Construction of Buildings;

Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited possesses as one of its strengths, a commitment towards enduring client satisfaction through technical understanding, on-time deliveries, long term reliability and high performance, and lifetime economy.

Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited boasts of a wide array of lifting machinery and accessories, enabling it to take up projects and assignments of all sizes. Included in this profile is a list of some of the equipment at our disposal (Table I).

Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited has competent staff in the office to ensure that invoicing is accurate and correct at all times. Regular statements, correspondence and communication is always maintained to ensure efficient account management with the relevant Liaison Persons within the Client’s office. Undivided, focused attention will be given to any queries, incidents, accidents or any other concerns raised, within an agreed upon turn-around time.

Environmental Considerations

There is no doubt that there are internal and external environmental implications in relation to the Company’s services. However, in offering services to clients, Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited will continue to exercise its strict environmental compliance policies.

Occupational Safety

Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited has developed an Occupational Health and Safety Plan to govern its operations. The plan addresses the issue of emergency responses in the event of an accident that requires medical attention beyond that which is available on-site through the first-aid equipment maintained by the Company. Regular training and re-training is also held for our staff to ensure safety rules are strictly adhered to. Appropriate equipment and consumables will be used to mitigate fire hazards as well as trauma associated with impact from falls, scrapes and scratches. We are however proud to add that so far we have had an excellent Safety Record, winning awards in some instances.

Key Management Team

Mr. Adnan Karime, the Managing Director of Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited, is an accomplished Entrepreneur who holds a BSc Degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Business Administration.

Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Karhani, the Project Manager of Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited, holds a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Computer Studies.

Mr. Sami Fahir Karime, the Operations Manager of Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited, is an Engineer who holds a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Computer Studies.

Mr. David Nanko, Health, Safety and Environment Director of Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited, is an experienced professional with a strong technical knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Project Management and Business Development. Outside this team, the company keeps a network of professionals within its chosen area of operations and when the need arises, these can be quickly mobilized to deliver to customers’ satisfaction at all times.

Other Staff The Company currently boasts of an experienced and highly skilled team of other Engineers and Operators, who offer day to day management of our operations at Clients’ sites and premises. These Engineers, Operators and other temporary employees who are brought in from time to time to offer short term support, together form a formidable team that offers excellent support to the Company’s Management team, in order to deliver on all projects and other company internal processes. Our experienced Engineers and Operators ensure incident free operations and equipment safety by observing internationally acclaimed safety codes and regulations at every point in our service delivery. Our company strives to deliver value for money by striving to meet and even exceed our clients’ expectations. Skarm Construction and Engineering Services Limited is committed to preserve the continued relevance and profitability of its services and will seek to constantly improve the quality of the workforce rendering such services.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY The Company occasionally allocates part of its limited resources towards making meaningful contributions to the communities of its operations, as well as other laudable initiatives aimed at the advancement of the larger society. A vivid example of this gesture is the donation made to the JOYCE TAMAKLOE MEMORIAL CANCER FOUNDATION in November, 2007 and for which a Certificate of Appreciation was issued (copy included in this profile document).
