Ιt’s our heritage,our journey,our greatest mission.

The survival of our planet demands that we strike a delicate

balance between the protection of the environment and

economic development, an issue that has gained great

importance for people and their governments.

This need is implemented by H.E.C. at a national and global

level, driven by safety for humanity and respect for the

environment.

The company, with its responsible, well trained, scientific

human personnel and the complete and most up-to-date

equipment, can proudly be presented as a crucial cog in

the perpetual cycle of nature - life development.

This is done through a proper recycling procedure by

transforming the harmful into useful and waste to energy

surplus as an element of life’s chain.

The social notion that we are responsible for the waste we produce is essential for understanding the significance

of their proper management whether we are on land or at the sea. The proper management of waste is obligatory,

since poor waste management from one, has negative impact to all.

Think about if all the waste produced in land, didn’t have a collection and management network to treat them properly. The

result would be a total ecological disaster.

For this reason, measures for proper waste management in land have already been taken.

Adequate networks and facilities for the collection and treatment of the waste produced in land already exist.

But...

What happens in sea and ports, where each ship stands alone for an industry producing dozens of tons of waste

every day?

What happens in ports where ships equal to thousands of industries?

The International Convention of MARPOL 73/78, on the initiative of the International Maritime Organization (IMO),

provides the solution through its integrated regulatory framework for the proper management of ship-generated

waste, demanding from the signatory countries to provide adequate and certified Port Reception Facilities.

result from the offshore oil rigs

- fleet of special tank trucks for the collection of ship-generated oily waste

- fleet of vacuum trucks for the collection of heavy viscous substances

as well as oily waste produced from offshore activities and inland industries.

Rising up to the challenges, H.E.C. established adequate modern land facilities, ideally situated in the heart of the

port area for receiving waste via road or sea.

and biological cleansing.

The treatment plants can treat any kind of oily waste from bilge waters and tank washings to very heavy emulsions,

even low flash point (<61 ) waste.

Therefore, in order to identify the nature of an influent with such a wide diversity, as well as the quality of the effluents,
