Broomfield Construction has recently celebrated over 40 years in the construction industry. Operating from our purpose built base in Bree Castleblayney and directly employing 40 people. Broomfield Construction have built an enviable reputation throughout the region as a multi disciplined main contractor and are a trusted construction partner in the Healthcare, Education and Local Authority sectors. Broomfield also has vast experience in the construction of food processing plants, factory plants and pharmaceutical plants as well as renovations to both listed and non listed projects. SAFE T CERT Accredited by Safe T Cert for two years running. We recently excelled in our 2017 audit. Safe T Cert is an independent third party auditor who ensures we meet strict standards in all aspects of Health & Safety on all sites.

STEEL PRODUCTION In 2017 Broomfield Construction upgraded our existing steel workshop based in Castleblayney to hold a CE Marking Certificate — Execution Class 2. This ensures that we can manufacture structural steel compo-nents quickly and effectively to supply our jobs and the projects of other contractors and clients.

Supervalu Skerries, Skerries, Co Dublin

Client: Moriarty Group Architect: Terry Woods Architect Contract Value: €1.2m Contract Period: September 2016 — March 2017 (phase 1) Description: Extension to the side of an existing and live Super Valu premises in Skerries, County Dublin. The project also included demolition of existing terrace housing and shops. The building remained live thoughout construction and the boundary of the site and shop continously moved throughout its phases. As a result health and safety and environmental control were of massive importance. The construction included steel structure, curtain walls & brick exterior.

Corby Rock Mill Offices, Monaghan

Client: Corby Rock Mills Architect: CS Pringles Contract Value: €700k Contract Period: March 2016—October 2016 Description: Construction of a vertical extension to Corby Rock Mill offices in Monaghan town. Two storeys were added above the existing ground floor premises. The remaining adjoining buildings and compound remained in operation throughout construction so health and safety and continued compliance with the factories food grade standards were of the utmost importance. The construction consisted of a masonry steel structure with Kingspan roof and wall cladding.

The Glencarn Centre, Main Street, Castleblayney

Client: Seamus Mallon Architect: Maceo Design & Management Contract Value: €8m Contract Period: May 2007—October 2008 Description: Demolition of existing derelict buildings and surrounding high walls. Reconstruct new 2 storey shopping centre with apartments on roof level, plus office fit out and all associated site works. The project also included the construction of a new car park and access road.

Liffey Energy Project, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan

Client: Liffey Meats Architect: Jennings O’Donovan Contract Value: €500k Contract Period: March 2017—Present Description: Construction of one of Irelands largest wind turbines on a existing meat factory in Cavan. The wind turbine will power the factory and will sell excess energy back to the grid. Broomfield Construction acted as main contractors and PSCS alongside the turbine assemblers Enercon & consultants Gaeltech in constructing the wind turbine. Broomfield also managed the roadworks associated with transporting the turbine from Dublin Port to Cavan which included extensive works to roundabouts and turns in Cavan.

Corby Rock Mill, Monaghan

Client: Corby Rock Mills Architect: CS Pringle Contract Value: €1m Contract Period: February 2017—June 2017 Description: Construction of a new 700m2 steel shed over an existing shed of same use. The two bay shed was constructed first and then the existing structure underneath was demolished thereafter, allowing the mills machinery to be fitted. Health & safety and environmental control were of high importance in order to maintain the food grade standards of the live factory. The project also included the construction of a new plant room, weighbridge and control room to operate the entire premises.

Lyons Estate Research Farm, Newcastle, Co Dublin

Client: University College Dublin Architect: Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers Contract Value: €1.8m Contract Period: May 2014—January 2015 Description: Construction of a state of the art dairy farm research facility. Pre-cast and insitu concrete walls and floors. High importance of health and safety on site as it is being constructed in a full live farm environment.

Rockfort Eggs, Oram, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan

Client: Rockfort Eggs Architect: CS Pringle Contract Value: €1.1m Contract Period: June 2011—September 2012 Description: Construction of new poultry houses together with ancillary site structures and services. Construction of reinforced concrete foundations, walls, floors etc. to highest food grade standards. Site services including drainage, water, effluent storage and disposal infrastructure.

Rathbeale Grove, Swords, Co Dublin

Client: Rathbeale Grove Architect: DN-Smyth Contract Value: €1.5m Contract Period: December 2016—November 2017 Description: Construction of 12 houses at Swords, Co Dublin. Broomfield built a mixture of 3 bed and 4 bed houses including all roads, footpaths, services and landscaping of gardens and communal areas. The houses achieved a BER Rating of A3 and were all masonry built and each were completed inside of 20 weeks.

Stockwell Lane Apartments, Drogheda, Co Louth

Client: Jim Donegan Architect: Emmett Humphreys Architects Contract Value: €550k Contract Period: January 2017—September 2017 Description: Refurbishment of 6no. Apartments in the centre of Drogheda town in a confined site next to the Boyne river. The existing structure required internal propping with a steel frame in order for demolition and re-instatement works to begin. All materials used were to suit the surrounding locality and to suit the original patina of the building so not to lose its character. The project improved the efficiency of the building to meet modern standards and extended the lifetime of the structure further.

Rockfield Heights, Rocks Road, Kingscourt, Co Cavan

Client: Patrick Reilly Architect: ABC Architects Contract Value: €5m Contract Period: February 2009—March 2014 Description: The project was started in 2009 and was split up into 3 separate phases - 10no. 4 bed homes, 12no. 3 bed homes and 12no. 2 bed apartments with two drive in garage door entrances. The last phase, which included the apartments, was recently completed in 2014. The houses were timber frame construction with a block outer leaf while the apartments were cut into the side of a steep hill using reinforced concrete beams, slabs and mass concrete walls to retain the earth and support the structure.

Castle Park, Clogherhead Road, Termonfeckin, Co Louth

Client: Berwat Construction Ltd Architect: Fenton Associates Contract Value: €3m Contract Period: April 2013—November 2014 Description: New development of 'A' rated 3 and 4 bedroom family homes situated in the village of Termonfeckin, Co. Louth. The state of the art fit out included a choice of superb fitted kitchen and appliances, fully tiled bathrooms with heated towel rails as standard, tiling and flooring throughout the ground floor, fitted wardrobes in bedrooms, and gardens landscaped front and rear with cobblelock driveway and patio. This housing estate has recently been published in the house buyers guide magazine as one of their prestigious reports.

St Anne’s Loreto NS, Church Hill, Navan, Co Meath

Client: St Anne’s Loreto Board of Management Architect: Gaffney & Cullivan Contract Value: €430k Contract Period: April 2013—November 2014 Description: Works consisted of the demolition of a school shelter and boundary walls and the construction of four new classrooms and a 2 story extension to a site with limited access. The project included large glazing sections, fibre cement cladding and stone facing. All works completed in February 2014.

St Peters Ns, Bolton Street, Drogheda, Co Louth

Client: St Peters NS Board of Management Architect: Emmet Humphrey’s Architects Contract Value: €480k Contract Period: April 2013—November 2014 Description: Alterations and refurbishment to existing protected structure at the centre of Drogheda town. All new greener alternative methods of construction to lower construction carbon footprint. Technology and materials included celestial board, laminate beams, calsitherm climate board, lime render, natural hemp fibre board, natural sheeps wool. The existing structure was retained, as it’s of particular interest to the architecture of the town. As much of the materials as possible chosen were that of similar appearance and makeup to the existing and historical elements of the building.

Cartown Ns, Ballymakenny, Drogheda, Co Louth

Client: Cartown NS Board of Management Architect: McGarry & NíEanaigh Architects Contract Value: €1.2m Contract Period: April 2013—November 2014 Description: Construction of phase 1 & 2 of new primary school which included gen-eral classrooms, multipurpose rooms, toilet facilities, cloakrooms & staff offices. Work also consisted of play & parking areas plus all associated site works and re-roofing.

Medical

Emergency Department, Our Ladys Hospital, Navan

Client: Health Service Executive Architect: Gaffney & Cullivan Contract Value: €1m Contract Period: December 2013 - November 2014 Description: Demolition of old and construction of a new larger state of the art accident and emergency on the same grounds. Block wall construction with a large uPVC flat roof. Very high level of insulation to achieve overall u-value rating of 0.2. Curtain walling and fibre cement cladding to exterior. The interior was finished to a very high level with marmoleum on the floors, skimmed plaster on the walls and suspended grid tiles on the ceiling which gave easy access to the many services running throughout this building.

Hilltop Medical Centre, Raheny, Dublin 5

Client: David Beggs Architect: Terry Woods Architect Contract Value: €500k Contract Period: September 2016—January 2017 Description: Complete internal demolition of an existing business and shopping centre. The interior was stripped to its core and re-built as a medical centre. It was completed to a very high standard including stainless steel handrails, internal lifts, oak doors and mouldings. An extension was built to the side to accommodate a new stair and lift shaft. The car park was also extended to the side and rear doubling the parking capacity by use of tarmacadam and permeable paving.

St Olivers Nursing Home, Louth General Hospital, Dundalk

Client: Health Service Executive Architect: Hamilton Young Architects Contract Value: €4.6m Contract Period: March 2014 - August 2016 Description: Complete refurbishment of existing building with a total floor area of 2500sqm. Works included were a complete modernisation to current building regulation standards and HSE requirements. Including electrical services, mechanical services, marmoleum flooring, external windows and doors, internal fire doors and fire walls, ramps and outdoor works in compliance with part M and all other associated works.

St Josephs Nursing Home, Trim, Co Meath

Client: Health Service Executive Architect: Gaffney & Cullivan Contract Value: €1.2m Contract Period: August 2012—November 2014 Description: Refurbishment of entire unit within St. Joseph's Nursing Home 1600sqm floor area. Stripping out of existing and replacing with new interior. Works included the removal of asbestos, working in a live environment within a fully functioning hospital environment and working to clinical requirements.

Concra Wood Clubhouse, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan

Client: Concra Wood Golf Society Architect: Brendan G. Cashel Architects Contract Value: €3.55m Contract Period: July 2008—October 2010 Description: Construction of a new 2.5 storey state-of-the-art clubhouse on the grounds of Concra Wood Golf Course. The clubhouse covered 1,400m2 and consisted of changing rooms, restaurant, bar, conference room and PGA Pro Shop. The clubhouse was steel frame and concrete block construction with stone facing, zinc roof, curtain walling and all other associated site works including mechanical and electrical services, foul sewer and storm water drainage systems.

Monaghan Training & Development Centre, Annyalla

Client: Monaghan GAA Architect: Kenneth D. Lonergan & Associates Ltd Contract Value: €570k Contract Period: January 2013—November 2013 Description: Extension to existing training & development centre at Cloghan, Annyalla, Co. Monaghan. Works included the construction of a new extension comprising of 4 dressing rooms, committee/function room, large overspill area and kitchenette and basement gymnasium and all associated site works.

Heritage

St Macartans Cathedral, Dublin Road, Monaghan Town

Client: Bishop Duffy Architect: S&G McCann Architects Contract Value: €520k Contract Period: April 2004—August 2004 Description: Refurbishment work carried out to the external grounds of St Macartans Cathedral. Works included setting of pavements, construction of both drive & walkways. New steps and walls erected. New landscaping constructed & new lighting erected.

Heritage

An Eaglais Heritage Centre “The Meeting House”,

Broomfield, Co Monaghan

Client: Monaghan County Council Architect: ABC Associates Contract Value: €512k Contract Period: February 2010—November 2010 Description: Works included the removal and disposal of Asbestos. There was dry rot and wet rot prevalent on site and all infected timbers needed to be either replaced or treated. The roof had to be stripped and re-slated, replacing damaged slates with same material to blend in. New wooden floors, new double glazed windows - all to match the existing and meet the modern standard with u-values and performance. Removal of all internal and external doors and replacement with new fire rated doors - all were crafted to keep the heritage feel in the building.

Glencarn Hotel, Monaghan Road, Castleblayney

Client: Patrick McFadden Architect: ABC & Associates Contract Value: €4m Contract Period: February 2002—November 2002 Description: Renovation and fit out of the main hotel & leisure complex, plus all associated site works.
