Health Happenings!

Current opportunities for healthy living choices!

Each day at 9am and 2pm Asha Patel walks from the Main office to the Post Office. She would like to welcome any employee who would be interested in joining her. This breif walk twice a day provids an excellent opportunity for adding a little excerisce to the day! Reasearch shows that by walking 20 minutes or more each day the risk of heart disease and diabetes can be signifigantly lowered. Additionally, it has been shown that excersice during the work day can help to aleviate stress and anxiety, which can help raise energy and productivity levels. (http://www.adaa.org, http://www.cbc.ca)

Liz Davis participates in Zumba classes three times a week. She would like to welcome any employee to join her for these classes. Classes are offered at a variety of times, six days a week through the Parsons Recreation Commission. If someone is interested but unable to attend the same times as Liz, there are plenty of other opprotunities to participate as well! Zumba cost $3.00 per class. (Flyer for Zumba classes attached.)

Are you considering striving toward healthier living? Also at-tached to this newsletter is information for weight lose and to-bacco cessation programs provided through BCBS of Kansas.

Fall Shirt Orders

Its time for fall shirt orders! I plan to put in a shirt order by the end Mid-October, with them arriving around the end of October. I am still working on the login function of the website for employee use only. But, in the meantime, I have gotten the shirt order page of the employee sec-tion done. Below is a link for the employee login page. You cannot get to this page through the website. It is hid-den from the site at this time since I’m still working on login functions. You will need to keep this link in order to access it. At this time the shirt order page is the only one completed and you will not be able to click on the other pages. I hope to have this completely finished soon. Thank you for your patience.

Feel free to stop by my office to see samples of sizes and look at the book. Prices will probably be similar to orders in the past (depending on quantity ordered). The 60/40 cotton blends typically run around 16.50 and the poly wa-ter wicking are around 15.50. These prices could be higher or lower depending on the total number of shirts ordered.

www.lcmhs.com/employee-information.html

Also, currently I have several shirts available in my of-fice that can be purchased. I have a variety of colors in men’s and women’s polyester short sleeve polo shirts, a few women’s long sleeve polo shirts and a couple t-shirts. Anyone who is interested in purchasing one of these shirts please feel free to come by and take a look! Also, I have come to posses some Center shirts that are gently used that individuals have brought into me. Currently I have two size small shirts that I will give to employees on a first come first serve basis. If anyone else has shirts they would like to have given to other employees, feel free to bring them by my office.

Thank you!Monica

This presentation provided divers with stratagies for dealing with stress on and off the job.
